_cinderella_ = Thst is a great feeling to be able to wear a smaller size.

Miss Giggles= I know what you are talking about that "middle" and you
are doing the right exercises to help you help it to disappear. I bet, it felt
good to buy something to wear that needs to be taken in instead of taken
out! Good job!!

Karen= you are doing great! And you think that you are not exercising
enough, what all of the exercise muscles as you care for your children.
Shouldn't this count as exercise? Keep up the good job!

reach = just love your attitude! Keep on doing a good job!

Melissa= You have some very good ideas! Keep with it you are doing great!

Jennifer= What a good report! A right way to go! Losing slowly and surely
sounds like a recipe for success!

And if I missed someone! Keep up the good job! And I am sorry if I missed you, posters!

I gained one then up to three pounds!

Then this morning after walking for several days, I am down 3 pounds
and now I wish that I didn't have ice cream so late at night!

You both have good attitudes to be success!

I am now doing my routine 3x a week on Mon, Wed, and Fri. I find that if I give a day of rest between then I can hit the next workout hard. I am keeping the weekends for family time. I am seeing amazing results with this. I push myself to my absolute limit so that is probably a big part of it. My very fit, yet very busy husband, has now adopted my workout regime and it is kicking his bottom. We worked out together Friday and I think I almost lost him during the core/ab portion. We were dripping with sweat.

My mood is up, my energy is up, it is all good. I can feel myself getting into better shape each day. Because of that I am making much better eating choices. That is key. The other day I wanted a little chocolate. I thought, dark chocolate. The normal size bar I found was 440 calories that is insanity. I settled on York Peppermint Patty. Even that was 140 calories. To put it into perspective I thought about running it off. To run off that 140 calorie candy bar, I have to run between 12-14 minutes. That is for one candy bar. I ate it and it was good but I felt like I made an informed choice. Much better than stuffing my face mindlessly.

Keep up the good work. Each day a new battle begins and all you have to do is show up.

Karen

I found out that according to sparkpeople.com, I burned 435 calories doing 75 minutes of gardening today! Now, if I can just cut out the late night binge eating, maybe I'd lose weight instead of gaining it.

I'm still hovering at the 165 lb mark, and I'm thinking about joining our community center's fitness room for November. It's $10 and they have a pretty good selection of cardio/weight equipment. I'm thinking I could use it at night after dinner while my hubby keeps Aaron or maybe we could both go as a "date" lol. Either way, I'm not getting enough exercise and my attitude stinks! I could use the exercise and the endorphins - 2 birds/1 stone!

I would!

Your copays are more than 10.00 .. just think of it that way.

It is real hard in the winter, the weather.. the lack of sunlight.. exercise helps a lot. A gym really does help because here it gets icy and snowy and its not safe always to go in the dark which in two weeks will be after 5 pm for a few months.

Bettymack, you are so encouraging! Thank you so much your post made my day!

Jenn, do it. I am serious be like a Nike ad and just do it. It is all well and good to say, I'll exercise at home but for most people it doesn't happen. There is laundry there, and dishes, or a tv. Most people, me for one, need a dedicated time and place to work out. You are going there for a specific so it is much harder to get off track. I really agree with Miss Giggles that exercise during the winter is even more important. I know you have been struggling with your attitude. Good, hard, sweaty workouts with increase your endorphins that will greatly increase your mood. That is why I run, it is the only way I can get a runner's high and I am a bit addicted to it.

Karen, as usual, you are right. Just do it. I'm going to sign back up next week so that we are all set for November. I'm not even telling hubby. If I do, he'll help me find a reason not to do it. YAYAY!!!!

My size 10 pants are getting uncomfortably tight! So I am having to pull out my size 12 pants out of the closet. I hate this! I am eating too much, this time of the year has all kinds of foods I LOOOVE, and not exercising enough! I've probably gained ten pounds over the last 6 weeks! Yikes. The consequences of not being able to fit into the size of my cute clothes is enough to start my weight loss, so I am anticipating eating less and exercising more in the next few weeks. Better get some weight off before I put some back on over the holidays!

Anyone else relate about loosing now, only to gain later during the holidays? lol.

I can relate. In the past year, I'd gained over 25 lbs, from the late night binge eating. My size 24W Chic jeans are too tight now, so I have to wear a larger size. My XL shirts are a little snug.

Time for me to get back on the wagon. It starts by getting off the computer and not posting late at night, like I'm doing now, because that's what triggers the late night eating binges.

I had another great workout today. I shaved 9 seconds off of my 3 mile time. I have been doing great with my diet. I finally was proactive with prepping food and it has paid off during the day with my little ones. I keep freshly spun romaine lettuce, cut up peppers, cut tomatoes, already grilled and diced chicken, and homemade dressing ready in the fridge. Then when I get home from the gym with tired, hungry babies, I can throw together an easy, filling, and healthy lunch. It has made it so easy.

Melissa, another good reason to cut out the late night posting is to get to sleep. Those people who don't get enough sleep have a much harder time losing weight. It is something to think about.

Jenn, don't let anyone or anything talk you out of taking care of yourself. By the way, that includes letting yourself talk you out of it!

Pink Carnations= I know how you feel! Please don't give up!
When you weigh again, you will be 2 or 3 pounds
lighter!
Sometimes when I gain back what I lost, I get
that thought, I give up, then I find myself
munching or more correctly woofing down a
whole candy bar! ( one of those giant ones!)

Bettymack I know exactly what you are talking about. That is why I focus on my eating and workout and have avoided the scale. I have been thinking about getting on it recently to see where I am but I hesitate. If I get on and I am not satisfied then I am disappointed in myself. And that is just silly. I feel incredible. I am eating better than I have in possibly ever. I ran 3 miles 3x this week along with other exercise and my husband and I are going on a 5 mile hike tomorrow. Everything is going great but I will still let 3 little numbers define me. I wish I could just look at it like another tool and not a judgment.

Well, this is Day 3 of my new determination to stop eating sugar. On Wednesday, some of us went shopping for new clothes and stuff. On the way there, they stopped at Walgreens, where they bought, FOUR BIG packages of candied fruit slices in round tubs! Later, one of them bought some strudel bites at another store. When I saw these items prominently displayed on the kitchen counter, I said to myself:

THAT SUGARY STUFF IS ICKY AND I'M NOT GOING TO EAT IT! I don't have to eat this stuff just because it's there. I get so (tos) tired of trying to explain to my family that putting that stuff on the counter like that is just too much trouble for me to resist. I've finally decided that I'm not eating that stuff, no matter how tempting it is. I have plenty of fruit, cheese, cottage cheese, veggies, light yogurt and sugar free foods to keep my stomach happy.

Well, I'm happy to say that I've resisted temptation for THREE days now. The sugar cravings seem to be lessening a little, but they're still trying to get a piece of the pie. Well, they're just going to have to go hungry, because I'm not feeding them anymore!

Wishing y'all success on your weight loss journeys this weekend and coming week!

Melissa, you can do it. I know you can. The cravings will lessen and go away. My sweet tooth is pretty much gone. In fact, right now the idea of a heavy, sugary desserts is pretty gross to me. It makes my stomach a little sick to think of it. I finally finished it off my eating some fat free Yoplait yogurt. It has sweetner in it but I am just dealing with that right now. Since it is a preportioned amount I don't over indulge.

Karen, I have been weighing myself (I know, shame on me) and I get so frustrated when I step on and watch it fluctuate from day to day. Although, I have noticed a pattern and as long as I stay within a few pounds either way, I have learned not to get too upset about it. I'm still down 10 lbs from where I was when I started posting, so I guess slow and steady wins the race after all.

I'm going to sign up for the fitness room next week and I'm going to start walking again in the evenings when my son is at football practice. I need a minute to myself to recouperate from the day, and no one is going to just give it to me, so I'm taking it. I need to get out of the house, take a deep breath, and do this.

Melissa, good for you on resisting temptations. We have to take it one minute at a time, and realize that it is a choice. No matter how much we are tempted, it is still a choice. Remember 1 Cor. 10:13!!!

"No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it." (NIV)

Remember the most important part, God is faithful, and He won't let you be tempted beyond what you can bear! I have had to call on this verse many times over the past few months. The less you give in to the temptation, over time, the less it will actually tempt you.
