Yeah, this was indeed a great idea. Maybe when there's a lot more people on the map it can help us to organize mini-regional GT's more easily. That would be great!

I added you to the main map - as I said in the other thread - I don't want multiple maps out there. Totally defeats the purpose!

I agree that having multiple maps defeats the purpose. I started mine thinking we might be able to use one we can all access.

Well, other than firewall issues, you seem to be the only one who can't access it.

Oh. I didn't realize all the others were firewall issues.

Not all were - some were just having to update the Flash through adobe. A few had issues while at work, but not when home.

you did the download yesterday or today? I thought I had the latest - and had to download it here in the office.

That's the latest version - there's no reason it shouldn't work. What browser are you using?

Well, I felt stupid for saying that. Turned out I had 9.0.48.0. I had thought the next version Adobe was releasing would be a 10.x. However, installing the 9.0.115.0 version did not change my situation. It still comes up with a gray box and claims to be Loading... but never does anything.

I'm using Opera 9.25/Linux or Iceweasel(Firefox), but the same results in both with the RPM.
With the tar.gz, it finally works, but only in Iceweasel.

That's odd...I use a very tightly secure Firefox and I didn't have any problem. *shrug* Would you like a screen shot of your location?

Please delete the one you added. You misspelled my handle.

Okay - sorry about that - I did it before I was fully awake.

Try to restart the browser if you haven't. That seemed to work for everyone else.

Hey folks,

Not to alarm anybody, but I just did an experiment (there's a reason I have this handle ) and even just knowing the name of your town can be enough to pinpoint the real you. (Pinpoint as in find out your home address without even getting up from the keyboard.)

Just a heads-up...

LabGuy,

Is that even if you only use a first name or a username?

thanks Lisa. it's fun to see where people live..... wow do I feel like I live on the other side of the planet from everyone... oh wait! only of the other said of the US!

you all live in big cities too! ya ever get lost in those big places? I think that my town could probably fit many times over in all your towns

for some reason, my marker didn't really hit my town ~~ so if you really want to "see" my town you have to go up on the map. I'd even show you my house, but it's the one w/ the killer guard deer outside.... they'd know you were looking!

Hmmm....makes me wonder. Who on our map lives in the smallest town? Who lives in the biggest city?

I'm sure I am neither one. My city is, I think, the 10'th biggest in the state which probably is somewhere in the middle for town/city size. And no, my city is certainly not big enough to get lost in! When I moved here, I think it took 2 days to learn my way around.

Now Maine isn't too big (although biggest of all the New England States) People can be found fairly easily.

I'm not worried either...just was curious how it worked. The map places me right in the middle of an intersection. On one corner is Kilwin's Chocolates and on the other is the little park where the frozen water that I have in my avatar is.

How small is your town tlims? The town I'm currently in has about 3,500. It's not the smallest town I've ever lived in and definitely not the biggest.

Hi folks!
Well you're in the smallest town so far Veronica... my town has just under 4,000 but then again it's mostly lake! So a boathouse would be quite appropriate for me benelchi. BUT we are associated w/ Warsaw, IN who's population is a little over 12,000.

I always thought a houseboat would be so cool. When I lived in the Puget Sound I had a friend who had one of those and I absolutely thought that was the coolest thing.

Even though we have plenty of lakes around here it wouldn't work too well here year round.

You know, I was just thinkin'... tomorrow's high temp. here is supposed to be 5* so maybe a houseboat would not be a good plan!

Probably not...I know I said I liked them because they're "cool"...but I dont' want the other kind of cool for a houseboat.

I can't remember what the exact temp they said is predicted for tomorrow here...all I can remember is what they said the windchill factor is going to be. -20!
