Its pretty good IMNSHO. I liked "Three Cheers For sweet Revenge" better as it felt like a revenge fueled, lost my lover killing spree (which its about). I wouldn't call them the best band ever but they certainly are not the worst.

They're one of the more interesting bands on moden rock radio which also says something about the quality of modern rock radio but no use to go there. It is what it is and until corporate culture values creativity in all forms of media (print, TV, movies) it will not change.

Least favorite to be honest. Favorites are "Disappear" and "Famous Last Words". The title track is good too.

I like them but I like Evans Blue better than these guys. I also like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and The Sounds. Project 86 is king of my musical hill, IMO. But when it comes to music to each their own! That keeps the variety in music!

My daughter's a fan of MCR. I liked "Helena" from Three Cheers, and I dig "Mama" and "Teenagers" from Black Parade.

I don't simpathise to this band due to the christian element abbreviation of the lyrics in some songs.
Although the tunes produced by this band can be nice to hear, but my love to our Lord is bigger then those lousy sounds.

As a Christian I am constantly stressing that entertainment is entertainment, if you disagree with it because of your beliefs you can still enjoy it as entertainment....

Loving the Lord and listening to music is not 'either/ or' decision.

The one exception to that is MCR - if anyone is sensible enough to become a Christian, they should be able to discern that MCR are garbage.

So MCR is the worst band EVER? The one lone exception. New Kids on the Block are better than MCR (since they are the ONE exception)? Village People are better than MCR?

Even NKOTB are better than the Village People because at least all the NKOTB could sing somewhat. All VP could do was rhythmically chant and dance. Aside from the cop, who could sing and he helped write some of the songs. Too bad he was stuck with all those costumed freak losers. And what village has an Indian Chief running around anyway? It is cute how churches are so naive that they will play "YMCA" and do the dance for it at youth meetings.

Back on topic: I don't understand the MCR hate (although it was probably somewhat in jest [;)]). I've heard alot worse on my local modern rock station these days (like eight or nine out of every ten songs they play).

MCR are so over-hyped. They have no good songs. Good Charlotte and Bowling for Soup (similar style bands) have some good songs - MCR don't.

I don't hear more than a superficial resemblance to Good Charlotte or Bowling For Soup. I could compare them but why bother it's not like I could "prove" MCR is much better than those two. I only know I hear much more originality and different styles from them than a typical "emopop" band. I don't notice either of them channeling glam era Bowie or doing concept albums (Good Charlotte's "Chronicles of Life and Death" doesn't really have a concept aside from life).

I guess its a "different strokes" deal but if I were to slag on a band for being overhyped or overplayed there are many bands I would pick before MCR.

I don't really like that style at all - none of these bands compare in standard to Iron Maiden.
