Mr. Mister's frontman, Richard Page, provided background vocals for Amy Grant's "Stay for Awhile" from "The Collection" (not sure if that helps or not).

my favorite songs of the old skool Christian music are:
"Blinded Eyes" by Petra
"It is Finished" by Petra
"Grave Robber" by Petra
"Judas Kiss" by Petra (this song was ahead of their time)
"Trains up in the Sky" by Mylon LeFevre and Broken Heart
"Boycott Hell" by DeGarmo and Key (i think the Newsboys make a great cover of this as well)
"Upon this Rock" by Newsboys
"Since I gave up hope" by Steve Taylor
"Ready for the Storm" by Rich Mullins
"When God Ran" by Benny Hester
"Still, Small voice" by Randy Stonehill
well, I actually like everything by Steve Taylor, the Imperials, and Rich Mullins
how i miss their music...

Me, too. Not familiar with the above mentioned Rich Mullins song, but the others are big standards for me. I loved the Imperials from the Russ Taff era to "Free the Fire". Steve Taylor is a genius!!!

I LOVE Geoff Moore and the Distance!!!! My dad used to play them all the time!
I also like Keith Green, Steven Curtis Chapman, Audio Adrenaline, 4Him, (I went to see them in concert for the first time when I was 4!LOL!) and there are a lot more I'm sure, I just can't think of them right now! I grew up on all kinds of Christian music and it's still something I really love today!

to be literally honest, Steve Taylor is the reason that the Newsboys are as successful as they are. Their best albums, he basically wrote the songs.
I love Steve Taylor, and he is a creative genius who knows when to break the rules of Christian culture (think about "I Blew Up the Clinic Real Good")...

Absolutely!!!! His use of satire made me think from his first Ep, I Want to Be A Clone. I used "Bad Rap" for my drama class in high school:
"...but you kill that thing that's in the womb/would not want no baby boom/Good, bad, laugh and scorn/blame yourself for kiddie porn..."
He never bit his tongue by taking on racism ("We Don't Want No Colour Code"), abortion ("Baby Doe", "I Blew Up the Clinic Real Good"), Communism ("Over My Dead Body"), televangelism ("Guilty By Association", "I Manipulate"), and selectivism ("Life Boat"). He rocks!!!
I love his raps for the Newboys in addition to his writing. I think Not Ashamed was his debut with them. Of course, I became a fan of their's in the previous album when they toured with dc Talk and my friend's the Dynamic Twins on the "Nu Skool Tour".

Yeah, he is...in Irvine, CA! He's on my myspace. He's one of my favs from his first project "Standing On the One"...which was actually a mainstream project before he was picked up by Frontline. I have ALL his stuff!!!

I have a lot of his stuff too - on cassette! :( I've looked for him online, like on itunes, but there is nothing but new jazzy stuff - not my style.

I just went to his website. It appears that you can download songs there from all of his albums minus the Christmas song on his Hits CD.

Only song of his I remember hearing was "Love Come Down".

I agree. "The Wall" was on his 3rd album - 2nd in the Christian Market. His first was Standing On the One, then came On the Run, which was half of new material and half of the previous mainstream project.Change of Heart featured "The Wall" and "Lost Inside of You".
Of course I highlighted ones I agreed with you as favorites. I'd add "Jesus", "Man Inside", "Standing On the One", and his Soulful Hymns project has some great remakes and a cool original tune called "At Calvary".

Does anybody remember The Archers? Also, I loved some so Wayne Watson's stuff like "Watercolor Ponies," and a buddy of mine last night reminded me of a great song by 4Him called "The Great Awakening" so, of course, I had to dig out all those CDs and dump them to my MP3 player. I had forgotten how good they were. And...Phillips, Craig and Dean...I loved those guy....in fact I saw them a couple of years ago at the Brooklyn Tab.

I loved the Archers!!!! They were one of the first Christian groups I listened to when I was exposed to CCM in Jr. High. I saw Steve Archer at my very first concert and got his autograph. I have their last reunion project on CD.

2nd (Steve's first solo project was titled "Solo"; that one contained the song "But You Didn't").
I'm not sure if Steve had much solo success after 1985's "Action" (the one with "Safe")
