Praying, Roberta. May God use this time to heal you to a deeper level, so that you can help others find healing in Him.

My heart so goes out to you -- all of you -- those who have been through this and those with mothers and daughters who did and are. Your hurts and griefs are so vivid in your posts. I grieve, especially, for those who were coerced by their parents to do this. We parents can be so stupid and selfish at times. G-d, help us all.

I didn't have an abortion or and "unexplainable" pregnancy, but that is mainly because abortion was not available until I was in my early twenties and married. However, I shivered in my bedroom as my mother beat my 18-year-old sister for being pregnant in the kitchen next to my room. I sneaked out of my room to the butcher knives and tried to get the longest one out, because I fully intended to kill my mother that day, because I thought she was murdering both my sister and the child. The only thing that kept me from doing it was that the knife did not belong to the set, so it was too big and had to be turned oddly to get it out, and I was shaking too hard to get it out. My intent was there. I wanted Mother to die. By G-d's law, I, too, am guilty.

I am guilty in another way. You dear ladies got caught, but I didn't. Of those believers who will put their noses in the air and look down on you, I suspect that 90% of them willingly had sex before marriage, as I did before my first marriage.

What can I say. I am not much comfort or support.

I've been known to talk to unmarried and pregnant Christian women and if the topic comes up I do admit to being forgiven of the sin of fornication.

One of my dear, darling 16 year old church Youth Group girls came to me last night and said she had an abortion 2 weeks ago. She has struggled with depression for a long time. The father is one of our YG boys. I am doing some research now, and I've made a note of the Forgiven and Set Free course, my heart is breaking for her, what should I do?

She asked me if I thought she was a "horrible, disgusting person." I told her I think she is a hurting teenage girl. I do not want to condone the abortion, but I do not want this to fester in her soul.

I will pray for her... and for you... above all, let the Lord lead you, and He will not lead you the wrong way.

Love her. She wants to know that the Lord still loves her and is looking to you for that reassurance, IMO. You can love her, and still not condone the abortion. Abortion is a sin, and sin is sin. We all have sinned. She's hurting... more than can probably be expressed in words. Be there. Love her. Let her know that the Lord still loves her. That the Lord will forgive her for what happened if she asks Him to. Pray for her... she needs it now more than she knows.

(((((((( 4eva )))))))))) I'm sure this is difficult for you to deal with as well. Ask the Lord to lead you in what to do, and He will not fail you. He will give you the words.

*disclaimer* just my opinion....

Has your daughter been able to reach her and talk to her about 'life'?

No. This isn't a girl that she has ever talked to. She just happened to hear the girl talking to someone else about it.

It's very sad that such young girls go through situations like this, two of my sisters of had abortions, and both of them wanted me with them, it is the most horrible thing watching the process and knowing what they are doing, I couldn't help but cry. I pray for everyone who has gone through somthing like that, and also for their friends and family.

Hi BeeLuvsAva and welcome to the boards!

Last night I was at a Bible study and the pastor's wife was boasting about the "ministry" she had in helping women get abortions.

WHAT??!!! Um...sounds like you need to be going to a different church Roberta. That is not a 'ministry'. Destroying the Life God creates is not one of His 'good works'.

Hi Kimberly! Long time, no see.

That is just one of the churches that I've attended while church-shopping. It has made me think again about volunteering my time at Options for Women in hopes of helping a woman to choose life.

Hiya Roberta!

That is a wonderful way to spend your time volunteering. What a blessing you could be to those women/girls.

If I had been in your place during that Bible Study I'd likely as not been able to control myself. I'm sure I'd have given her a piece of my mind as well as Scripture about how the Lord knows us in our mother's wombs and how she's doing a disservice to Him.

I will pray that the Lord would intervene in her heart. Is it possible for your daughter to talk to her or are they complete strangers?
