ORIGINAL: deblawson Is anyone else going to Rome, GA tonight to see the Hoppers? This will be my first time to see them in concert. I am soooooooo excited!!! Squire Parsons will also be there. Advanced tickets are only $10.00. What a deal! You'll probably have to listen to a Funeral Home Commercial for that price. We'll be there look us up. Our usual seats Section C Row A 12 & 13. We have balcony seats because we decided to go at the last minute. I will try to look you up and meet you. Yes, Bobby, I really hate the funeral home commercials, but, you're right, I like the price and he brings great groups in! How was it, deb?????

I've been listening to Kim Hopper's new one, I Just Wanted You To Know. It's good, in fact, very good. It's not quite at the same level as The Ride, which I sometimes think deserves 6 stars on a 5-star scale. But it's in the same ballpark as Steppin' Out and Generations, and has a couple of top-notch songs. "Gospel To The World," the latest contribution by Paula Stefanovich (author of Jerusalem and Yaweh), deserves to go to the top 10.

I am expecting mine in the mail sometime this week! I am so excited about it! I love Kim's voice, God blessed her with a great talent. I listened to the Podcast from Canaan Records the other day and they played short clips of her songs and from what little I heard I love it! The Hoppers finished their new Live Recording this weekend, I believe, I am looking forward to getting that CD too. I was able to preorder it in Jackson, TN when I saw them.

I first heard of her when my choir sang "In The Presence Of An Awesome God" about 7 years ago. Awesome harmony. I am glad she and the Hoppers found each other, it is a good fit, her songs and their presentation. I will be on the lookout for this new song. zzzzzzzzzz

I received my copy of Kim's CD Thursday, and I love it! Each song is great, and I don't mean just lyrically speaking, but the message in each and every song. My favorites are "That Sounds Like Heaven To Me" "Well Done, Well Done" "Come Out Praising." I love them all, but those are my all-time favorites off of that CD. I agree that "Gospel To The World" is great too...her songwriting is amazing! God blessed her with a wonderful talent...and she is using it for HIS good!!

On the Hoppers "Live Across North America" CD the songs include: 1. Holy Ghost Wind 2. Blame It On Love 3. Jesus Saves 4. Pathway Built For Two 5. Ten Thousand Years 6. Ready To Leave 7. On My Journey Home 8. Mama Was Praying For Me 9. He's Worthy 10. It Is Well With My Soul 11. Jerusalem The DVD is an episode of Connie's TV show. They play I think a few songs from the 50th Anniversary DVD. I believe they are, Freedom Band, God Already Knew, That's Him, and I believe there is another one. Connie talks about having cancer and God healing her on there. There is a bonus..."Making Of Live Across North America" it is a clip of the photo shoot, rehearsal and things. It is really neat!! I suggest the purchase!!

I used to really like the Hoppers but there program, jokes lead ins etc. are the same and I've grown tired of them. I also have found the more I hear of the business side of Claude and the boys the more I think the word "BUSINESS" comes out of southern gospel and I'm tired of that.

You have a right to your opinion and I respect it but that can be said of MANY groups. Let me just add that if you don't run your group as a business it won't be long before you're out of business.

I have been to many different concerts (by many different groups). Guess what? They all tend to use many of the same jokes. It would be impossible for them to change the program each night. As far as the "BUSINESS" comment, I'm wondering what you expect from the Hoppers. Free concerts each night? Free CD's and DVD's to all? If SG groups don't have good business sense, they don't last long. They have bills to pay too, you know.
