sleep walker

going through the motions
walking through this life
oblivious to the time
that is ticking by

that every moment
that every day
each breath we breathe
never know what could be your last

sleep walking living life
as if tomarrow were always there
we forget
so easilly.... or maybe
its just easier to deal

to not think about the reality
that uncertainity
but then there are little moments
to remind us of this truth

that we are but a breath
a mist in the air
that is there
then its gone and we find our death

so if you think tomarrow is always there
then wake up because there will be a day
when its not
and you won't get another chance

Hypocrite
I've heard it said that actions speak louder than words
I've dealt with people who say one thing
yet they do another
and which do you believe

chorus
words may have their power
but sometimes what you say
is lost in your actions
so say what you mean then do it too

you say one thing
and the sarcasim in your voice
tells me you mean another
I hear you say these words
but its not what you mean
because you're doing something
completely different

chorus

you say you love him
as you sing the words to a song on sunday
yet you curse that afternoon
so what do you mean
you say I wanna live for you
yet you don't do anything at all
so what do you mean

chorus

end
Isn't time we meant what we say
Isn't time that we do it too
not just words not just air
but actions too

How often do we say we'll do something but never do? How often do we say one thing then do something different? How often do we tell God I wanna live for you but then well we don't? Thing is a lot of it is human nature that sometimes we don't do what we say. But it does no harm to try to back up our words with our actions. I just sort of came up with this lyric... and now that I look at it, it reminds of something my pastor talked about on Sunday. You ever notice that there isn't a defintion really in the bible for God's love. Description yes... definition no. Look at John 3:16 .... "For God so loved the world that he gave his only.... " Then in another verse he says if you "love me you'll obey my comandments". These are actions.

Just something thought I'd share... hope you like.

The Coming Storm
seems the clouds of uncertainty loom
I hear the thunder boom
see the worry that covers your face
but isn't any wonder in this case

feel the rain falling down
hear the wind start to moan
but some how I know deep within
that some day this nightmare will end

I hang on to hope
That even through it all I can cope
Even if the world caves in on me
I know that with you I am free

I stand praying with each day
that soon everything will be okay
That at the end of the tunnel there's a light
That hope is what I try to keep in sight

Another day another moment
as the world spins by
its on going dance
and changing of seasons

everything changes
nothing is the same
yet is almost as before
this is life

its not always easy
its not always happy and fun
there are times when work needs done
joyful and sad, the good and bad

the world spins on
our lives move forward
without turning back
another year another day

not knowing when it all will stop
or what new thing the day will bring
what problem or trial will meet us
but this is a journey one that is mine and yours

the one we take together
without knowing it
separate and yet intertwined
a picture we can't see

this is our lives
my life your life
we're all different
but yet the same

Its seems impossible to imagine how my life will end.I'm just one man in the eternity of time, like a blade of grass in an endless field; Men die; many shattered bodies from hatreds aftermath, and shunned from frightened eyes of the living, and forgotten as though they never existed. We live ;struggling to find happiness in a shattered world, and cling to the hope of a new tomorrow, without pain , and sorrow, and death. A Heaven promised by words in a book that everyone seems to think has a different meaning. Words jumbled , and obscure to many who seek to understand the words of this Book. I wonder sometimes ;when my life ends , will I be forgotten to this world as though I never existed?, and lost in time ? We have a box of pictures of ancestors in my closet, though we know not their names, nor does anyone else. I wonder how they lived their lives, and their feelings!;Were they loved?, and loved? Did they believe in another world to come , or did they live their lives thinking the life they lived was all there was? I think of Miracles. The Miracles of the Bible; Of Moses , and Elijah, and Jesus, and many other Saints throughout history, and hear men ask; the Rabbi's , and atheist's, and agnostics, and false religions ask; that why did not anyone see or tell of these miracles?where is the proof of Jesus?, or the God of Israel? , and I think ;The miracles themselves have gone, as Lazarus, raised from the dead is now dead once again. The man with the withered arm, and the lepers, and lame, and the blind; all have died; many names unknown to us! The miracles of Jesus , though many of the healed have died, makes me realize that the true miracle is believing in the eternal one whom God has sealed, that He has the power to give us eternal life in the Kingdom of God, and to erase our sins, and give us eternal life from death! Once I died , and Jesus gave me life to believe, though I did not believe, by grace I was saved, pulled from darkness, and chosen to believe , and came back unto this world! I realize now if we only speak His name; JESUS; the word becomes life when the Holy Spirit is spoken from within our hearts into anothers heart , and our once thought empty words become the fire of life to light the candle of the Holy Spirit in that one who receives that light ! One day we all shall stand before Him,and the small candle lights of our lives together will seem as an endless ocean of twinkling stars in the Heavens before Him, and He will know our names!, and all shall know His name!peace shall never end! When the wind blows ;I feel Him breath, and when the rain falls ;I feel His tears, and when the sun shines ; I know He is the one named ; Day; The Son!Blessings in Christ our Lord,

cries-within, people who could write poetry to express their life are the one who have great experience/testimony in their life!

May the Lord continue to use you in this area! Remain blessed!

There is a song of lyrics I'd like to contribute and hope it may bring you comfort and restoration!

http://www.lyricsmode.com/lyrics/k/kirk_franklin/lean_on_me.html

This the song:
Kirk Franklin - Lean On Me

The Lord is my strength and song ....... I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.

Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.

Two Images
The mirror is before me
Its image stares back
Reminded of reality
Which stabs me

I see the broken
the shattered
the chains made link by link
day by day... moment by moment

this suffocating death
this sin which kills
and without remedy
there would be no escape

In hopeless torment
In this reality I look away
with disgust I wish to see no more
that which is my reality

Someone tells me to look again
Its image stares back
this new reality
relieves the ache

I see the forgiven
I see healed
I see the free
Which I choose moment by moment
day by day

I am in awe again
as my eyes see
not what I was
but what I am because of Him

John 3:16
My mind can't hold this image
not contained or confined
in mere words
the deepest part of this

these words alone
don't do anything
not until its felt
not until its in action

sure awe of this
simple and yet so beyond
what mere mortal
can even comprehend

this is the extent
which we often forget
how powerful how real
are these words

when you know
what it is they mean
when you've felt
what's behind in its totality

the words are simple
but whats behind them
is not...
that is ....

that the creator
of everything
the one who spoke
the universe into existence

that he cares
that he knows
that he desires
to be apart of our lives

that he died
taking our punishment
what we deserved
because he loves us

its not something
we should let become
less amazing
less mind blowing

because it isn't
its not meant to be
or ever should
just think about it

then ask'm
to show you
how much
he cares

Just a thought....
Sometimes I think we get complacent about God's love, and what it is he did for us. There are times I find myself thinking again about this... and realizing because I've become so "familar" with it... I've forgotten how deep it is. That much of what we comprehend... doesn't even begin to scratch the surface. Try to think about it for awhile... look at what we are and who he is... realize again... that the creator of the universe loves you! But don't take my word for it.... let him show you!

You have a lovely way with words cries-within. Deep from the heart.

Here's a couple of mine, one sad one funny.

A Mat and a Bed

Here I stand all alone,
Mum kicked me out, so now I roam.

A teen with attitude is what you said,
I’m sorry mum it’s all in my head.

I live in a hovel, a one room flat,
Not much in here a bed and mat.

An open door for friendship I think
I fall in with them and turn to drink.

Understanding a teen is hard I know,
I never did like ‘I told you so’.

But I want to come back MUM, So sad all these years,
I love you so much MUM, Yet it falls on deaf ears.

Hold me, Hug me, I’m still a child inside,
I need you so much, my tears I can’t hide.

I now stand at your grave with a rose so red,
I return to my hell, a mat and a bed.

SUNDAY ROAST
Why did you put the oven on early?
My chicken's burnt and gone all curly.

Nothing left now in the fridge to cook,
So I settled down with tea and a book.

The smokey haze just didn't go away,
Dont you ever listen to a word I say?

Metal in microwaves just don't go,
The fire brigade man told you so.

You blew it up and half the house!
Nothing left but a singed lowly mouse.

So I sit in this tent with tea and toast.
You will never again cook a Sunday Roast!

Psalm 51: 8, 12-13 say, "8Make me o hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou has broken may rejoice. 12Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach ransgressor thy ways, and sinners shall be converted unto thee."

Love comes and goes in life ....
Hatred comes and goes in life ...
Happiness comes and goes in life ...
Sadness comes and goes in life ...
Richness comes and goes in life ...
Poverty comes and goes in life ...

Yet, there's something that comes to our lives but never goes away as long as we call upon Him ... that's the Joy and Salvation God gives us through our Lord - Jesus Christ!

Thank You Lord, for giving me unchangable Words, unfailing Love!!!

Eight years ago, I expressed some of my feelings through a poem about Flight 93. I hope you feel the emotion pent up in my words. Like my words, then share my words:

Flight 93
By: A. W. Steinhour

You wake up in the morning, an ordinary Joe,
preparing for the routine, of a young man on the go.

Shower, shave, and brush the teeth, you pack your bag to leave,
tell your wife and kids goodbye, brush talcum from your sleeve.

The taxi ride is routine, to where you’ll go aloft,
the sun is lighting up the sky, and clouds are white and soft.

You feel the plane lift from the ground, and preflight jitters fade.
Great wife, kids, and job, you think, ‘I really have it made.’

Minutes into flight time, you get the fateful hijack news,
crazy people now control the fate of passengers and crew.

You think: ‘Because of history, they’ll fly somewhere else and land,
and what a story I’ll have tell, if nothing else gets out of hand.’

‘They’ll rant and rave excessively, and ransom they’ll demand,
or call for the release from jail somewhere, members of their band.’

Nervousness is soon replaced, with total abject fear,
when flight crew and the pilots, are pushed roughly to the rear.

The pilot says that something’s wrong, the plane a hijacker now will fly,
but if he doesn’t do it right, then everyone will die.

Your cell phone’s in your pocket, surprisingly it works,
so, you call you wife to tell her you’ve been hijacked by some jerks.

She tells you, with a deep concern, Twin Towers have been struck,
and then you know, beyond a doubt, you’ve all run out of luck.

The plane has over fifty souls, D.C. has thousands more,
so the choice is simply who must die, from this heinous act of war.

You tell your wife you love her, but you have a job to do,
your going to take the airplane back, and subdue those crazy few.

You tell her that you may not live, for something may go wrong,
because, these people don’t want money, they want to kill our freedom song.

The last words that your wife will hear brands freedoms corporate soul,
the battle cry, no better said, than when you said: ‘Let’s Roll.’

A spectator you no longer are, your hearts hear drum and fife,
as something must be done, and quick, to save more innocent life.

Into freedoms history, and shirking not, you charge,
Bad guy lose, good guys win, but the price was very large.

You all brought us together, that very fateful day,
the standard raised for “Patriot,” you few set high that day.

Rest well, you friends of country, God bless, and keep you well;
for the 9-11 killers: Spend your eternity in hell.

Yours is awesome too... I've written several over the years....

The day the towers fell

The city watches ,It wasn't thunder
in one instant, tower struck
flames and smoke billow out

horror chaos have just begun
everyone watches
concern and jamed lines

no one knows what to think
as another flies right for the other tower
it too began to smoke

questions and horror
concern and panic
filled minds and hearts

stay, go, go where....
hours pass
as brave men, women

help at this time
this time and need
many terrified

see no way out
see no other end
as flames consume

jump or fall from windows high
fall before they had a chance
for anyone to get there

time passes
but then another sound is heard
it rumbles but no plane is in sight

look up to see the tower
collapses down
metal and smoke

an ominious cloud
smell, odor makes you gag
as it covers everything

in a snow that won't melt
in this dark it rains down
till it slowly clears

the ground is covered
littered with it all
you don't know what to think

when in walking you see
a shoe in the debrie
you cough and gag

questions race
though a part of you is numb
time passes

then it comes again...
the next collapses
and now they are gone

a nation watched
held its breath
it cried out loud

but we won't ever
how can we ever forget
the day the towers fell

Well said, cries_within, well said.

Those who watched this horror or horror's unfold, must cry, for sanity's sake, about the loss, of life, and peace, and humanity, that day. Even battle ground war cannot hold the horror seen burning and cascading to earth. The only part of the whole fiasco, was how God righted the top of the North tower, and kept it from falling to the side, which would have caused even more destruction, and loss of life, that day. Of all the scenes I saw, and recorded that day, that is the only thread of hope I saw, as God's hand made the tower fall straight down.

May man's inhumanity to man, soon cease, hopefully seven years from this next week, that the Millennium may start, and peace reign supreme for the whole period of years. Hallelujah, to our God, and King, Jesus.

In Messiah, His Blessing, Love, and Strength. Arley

Time's constraint
whirlwind of todays and yesterdays
blow on by me...
I feel like I loose my grip
I can't get it back

cuz the time is slipping
slipping through my hands
like little grains of sand
minutes years waste away

this reality i wish not to see
but i do again so many times
yet this isn't all there is...
its just i can't comprehend

there's a place with no begining or end
there's someone who's not constrained
because he created it and holds it in his hand
and that's just the beginning

I'm not sure this qualifies as a poem but this is my favorite line.

Choose on this day who you will serve, either your idols in this world or the Lord your God. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

i don't see it
what it is you see in me
all my fears and failures
i only fall i only stumble

i don't get it
the only words
i have are yours
its not on my own

don't look to me
its only cuz of Him
that I'm anything
that I'm even here

I would've given up
I would've given in
I would've let it end
but I'm here cuz of Him
