ORIGINAL: AlwaysR8chel Hey Trish! I didn't know you worked in child-care before! Tell me more about it... what was your favorite part about working in child-care? It was several years ago now. I used to take care of kids in creches etc. I decided to go back to school as my schooling wasn't recognised as the same standard here in Australia as it is in New Zealand. I decided to get a childcare degree. It wasn't until the very end that I realised that God didn't actually want me having the childcare degree. Oh well, I'm a slow learner sometimes. I burned out BIG TIME! My favourite part about working in childcare? I loved working with the kids who had disabilities. The ones that people didn't have time for, or didn't WANT to have time for. The kids that were getting picked on by others. I wasn't supposed to, but I prayed for kids under my breath. I saw some real changes too. It was amazing.

Actually, my room needs organization, not just my closet. . . . ..... lol! This would be an awesome vacation! I do really love organizing!! Wow Trish! How cool! I think praying for kids is sooo important. Tonight Kendra and I ran into a 'hard luck' kid from our youth at the gas station. He has no mum... Alcohol/drug dependent father... the boy couldn't look me in the eye. When Kendra and I got back in our car, we sat and prayed for him. I think Kendra was crying a little for him... I'm so glad your finger is doing better! Yay! I just stopped by to say hey.... 'Hey!!!' xxoo

(((((((((((((((((((((RACH))))))))))))))))))))))))) I've really missed you! Yep, no trigger finger any more. I'm so thankful too, because that really hurt! I'd be crying too over that kid. I'm such a softie when it comes to kids like that. I'd just want to take them under my wing. Feed em so I know they've got something in their bellies, as you never know if the father uses his wages for drugs/alcohol instead of food. Give em lots of hugs and encouragement. I so relate to that kid not being able to look people in the eye. His self esteem is so low and he's full of shame. My parents weren't druggies, but they were alcoholics. You never knew what they were going to be like when they got home. What mood they'd be in. If you were going to get bashed or not, dragged around the house by the hair. If they'd had a fight and what the results of that was going to be. My parents used to lock each other out of the house if one got home before the other. The front door was right beneath my bedroom window. (We lived in a 2 storey house). You never knew if you'd get in trouble for letting the other one in. I'd be embarrassed as the whole neighbourhood could hear all of the swearing and screaming coming from our house, whether it was 9pm or 3am.

No Trish. They're both gone aren't they? Sometimes its good to talk about things. One of my favorite Forrest Gump quotes: "Sometimes, I guess there just aren't enough rocks."

I had two bouts with the flu in the early 1990's which were followed by subsequent complications, such as bronchitis and walking pneumonia. I never want to go through that again! I got seriously sick with the flu over 4 years ago. I very seriously do not want to go through that again!

I got my seasonal flu shot during my most recent doctor's visit. It sounds like I got it just before vaccine supplies dried up.

. . . . ..... hey guys! I haven't had much time to play and I should probably get off the computer now and start my day! (((((Trish!))))) You know... there are lots of people with life experiences similar to yours... people don't realize the affect their decisions have on others. Some of us spend a lifetime healing... Glad your finger is feeling better!!! Heya Ray, Mike, and DS! I hope you guys are well! Dave and I have been working very hard towards the goal of starting our own Celebrate Recovery group at our church. Our first meeting was this past Thursday!!! How cool, right?? It was a great night.... Three people came up from Beaumont to support us on our first night. I had to laugh because finally they realize what we go through just to make it to their group every Monday! We also had another couple from a church about an hour away. (They lead a CR group there, too.) We are looking forward to our Thursday night meetings..... (This means that we will have to move a homeschooling night to Friday or Saturday.) It's great weather here... the dogs have been way more frisky.... they are silly at times! I think about you guys often.... Love always, Rachel

I've been thinking about you lots too. Wondering what's going on, what you've been up to. How are you, Dave and the girls?

. . . . .... I am stickin' my hands out tonight!!!! We just got back about an hour ago from our group meeting in Beaumont. Today the drive seemed longer than normal... I'm soooo thankful my brother got me such a thoughtful b-day gift (Ipod). Dave and I don't have to *fight* over what is playing on the radio! (we don't really fight - I just didn't know how else to write it!) I think I'm finally calmed down enough to sleep. We had a fantastic meeting tonight! It's soooo cool to see God working in others' lives! (((((Trish!))))) (((((Ray!))))) Hope your day is a good one!!

You know I love you, right? It seems like such a long time since I last saw/talked to you. You're still right in my heart though, so it's not like you're going anywhere. How are Dave and the girls? What do you need prayer for?

ORIGINAL: cherish405 Seeing as your arms are out... ((((((((((((((((((RACH))))))))))))))))))))) . . . ....... this totally gave me a luv gush!!!! We are all well, Trish. The only prayer requests I can think of is for the Lord to help me get back on financial track. I happened to overdraw my account the last couple of days.... My fault. I thought some checks cleared when they didn't.... Half my next paycheck is spent already because of all the over-draft fees! I'm kinda miffed at myself. It's not like me to do that.... in a way- it's kinda good it happened. It forces me to rely on Dave for the next few weeks. That's one of my hang-ups... the pride thing. quote:

ORIGINAL: dsfuva (((((Rach))))) Congratulations on getting the meetings going! . . . . ..... Hey DS. You have been on my mind for the last couple of weeks.... Thanks so much for the encouragement. I hope things are well on your side of country! I just pulled apple crisp out of the oven.... It's a modified recipe... meaning that I just threw all the ingredients together - sprinkled some extra spices in it - and baked it for 40 minutes. The normal recipe looked like too much for my brain to handle tonight!! I started crocheting myself a sweater last year. I got all of it done except the sleeves... I stopped there and put it away. I found the directions when I was cleaning out my closet a little bit ago... I made myself suffer through the directions and I have half a sleeve left to crochet. After that, all I have to do is put the pieces together! I hope it turns out okay... I've never created a project like this before.... blankets are my forte.... lol! Tomorrow is Saturday.... I have a baby shower to go to.... but no $$ to purchase a present! Very humbling but okay. I will make a 'rain-check' card or something.... Have a great day/night you guys.... you are loved!!!

You sure are good at crocheting blankets! What colour is the jumper you are making yourself? I've never made a garment. No desire to. Understand the finances deal all too well. Will pray.

I'm thinking about making a cute poncho for my sister. I stumbled across this the other day... I think it would be sooo cute on her! CUTE PONCHO CLICK HERE! It's good for me to do creative projects every once in a while.... they help me keep my sanity!!!

Can't see the yarn that you're using for your jumper. The poncho looks really cute though! Creative projects are good. I'm hoping to do some throughout next year to go towards Christmas gifts and birthday gifts next year. I'm not going to try and stress myself out by trying to get things done for this Christmas. I'm trying to get my stress levels down, not build them up.
