My mamma always told me you're supposed to stand in a hallway somewhere and say "stye, stye in my eye, catch the next one passing by." LOL! Okay, it was silly but we always did it.

Catherine I may have missed it but when do you need them done by?

There is no deadline. I can submit the application whenever. That is why we still have not even gone and got the application notarized.

quote:

Catherine, I'm glad you got your eye checked out and some meds for it. Do you have to be careful about cross-contamination?

I don't think so. He told me only to put the drops in the infected eye. I will still be careful though.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well, I did drive to Carson City. I wish I would have just gone instead of thinking about it, because then I could have got the prints done too. So now my plan is get the prints done as soon as I can get out of the house Monday, then get my boss to go to a notary, then get the completed stuff in the mail. The people at the real estate office said it takes a week or two to process.
On the way back from Carson City I stopped at the chocolate shop. I got some chocolate covered potato chips because I have always wanted to try them. I also got a few other assorted chocolate things and some candied fake fruit things for Matt.
Then Matt and I went and ate at one of the cheap buffets for dinner. They had crab legs and those were good.
Then we were gonna go test drive a Suzuki car, but they moved locations and did not change the address on their website and so we were on the wrong side of town with not enough time before they closed to go to the right side of town. So I guess we will do that tomorrow now. I do not know how much longer the truck is going to live. It is getting really shakey and the other day I sat down in it and it started rolling backwards before I even turned it on.
The place I most wish was where I live in Panera Bread. The closest one is in the Sacramento region.
I can tell these kittens are getting big because they are suddenly just as messy as the other kittens I have had. I swept the crate up less than an hour ago and already it is trashed again. *sigh* I wish these kitties didn't have to leave
Where Josh and Anoush are moving...HAS A PANERA BREAD!! Yay! I will finally get to try it.
Bummer on the sty Catherine. I had a couple when I was in my teens. They DO hurt as Christine said and LOL Brandy, yes they can be gross, especially when the stuff starts to come out. But Catherine, keep doing the warm as you can stand it compresses. It helps that core in there to come to fruition quicker.
ETA: LOL Beckey, I would have done it too.
I still don't understand why this stupud eye thing had to happen to me. I wonder if I have been more stressed than I think? Stress is the only cause listed that I have because I don't wear eye makeup and I practice good contact hygiene. This week I developed several cold sores, and now this stupid stye. I hate that I can't wear contacts for several days now. Glasses get on my nerves because they never stay adjusted right and thus they bother my face.
Catherine, sorry to hear you have a sty. Could it be that your body is run down right now? If you've got that and cold sores, that could be why.
If you are prone to cold sores Catherine, pick up some L-Lysine and take it daily. it will reduce the number of them.
Stress could definitely be a factor in getting the sty.
This afternoon is my cousin's bday party. She's lived in the bay area about 2 years now and this is only the second time I've gotten together with her. I bailed on her party last year (just wasn't feeling good), she bailed on a dinner with me last year, and we just haven't extended invites to each other. Sheesh. It's a good thing we're family, otherwise we'd not be friends anymore.
I'm taking Josh with me tonight. He's nervous. I can't say that I blame him.
So guess what we bought tonight?
A 2005 Subaru Forester XT.
Turbo too.
And it has all the upgrades like leather seats, seat warmers, window warmers, power windows and locks, etc.
The Kelley Blue Book is $20,125 and before all the taxes and fees and stuff we bought ours for $18,599.
It is a 2005 and only has 12,769 miles on it. It was never a lease or a rental car. It was originally purchased in Texas.
It is white, and the leather seats are black. Since it is used I didn't really get a color choice, but white is acceptable. If I was buying a new car I would have got one of their blueish-greenish cars.
There is someone in the homeschool folder who also bought a car yesterday. Popular day to buy things.
That is so cool! We have a car with turbo and it comes in handy when you are passing someone who wakes up and decides to speed up at the same time.
It is mine. Matt said when we were first married that whoever drove the truck would get a new car when we bought one. I did all the test driving and stuff.
I was actually torn between buying a newer 2008 Forester or this 2005 Forester Turbo... they were pretty much the same price. Matt said he thought the Tubro would be better, so that is what we got. The only downside to the Turbo is that it needs premium gas.
It is so nice to drive a car that feels safe and not on the verge of breaking and that doesn't protest when I put it in reverse and that doesn't shake when I decelerate.
That is what our 4Runner did in Alaska. It was frustrating. It got to where I had to R to my spot, turn it off, put in N and then start it and go from there. It was a standard and the tranny was going and we didn't have the $$ to fix so instead we went into debt and bought the truck we have now. yay.
Enjoy it Catherine after putting up with the truck for so long ;)
How is your eye?
Seems still the same. I wish the stye would hurry up and go away so I could go back to my contacts.
Only four more days of full time at the call center! (after I finish the last couple hours of tonight, that is)
I am in love with my Subaru.
It is so fast. I know I am wasting so much gas, but it is so fun to floor the pedal... especially after a complete stop at a stop sign. The car will jolt you back if you aren't fully rested against the seat.
It is so quiet. I had to turn the stereo in my truck to the top of the dial to hear it over all highway noise. With this I can barely hear the car.
The stereo itself seems loud too. Turning the volume to 7 seems really loud.
Leather seats are pretty cool. I never thought I was a person who would care about leather seats. Maybe since they weren't my leather seats I didn't care before.
The stereo has a most interesting button. WB. "What is this?" I wondered. I was afraid to push it because I didn't want to mess something up. Finally tonight I pressed the button and it turns on the Weather Broadcast. Interesting. I never would have thought I needed a button to hear about the weather.
Well, went to the Sheriff's office today for my fingerprints. Interestingly enough the fingerprints they do there are digital, yet it is $50 less than the regular digital finger printing places. I did have to wait 45 minutes though. The stupid part that was when I got there the lady was away from her desk, so I just put my name on the sign in list and sat down. However, putting ones name on the list actually does nothing because you have to talk to the desk lady to get in her line. So dumb. Why bother to have a sign in list if it does nothing?
The real estate boss went with me and signed the application in front of a notary. I took her there in my new Subaru.
So now I finally have my real estate appraiser intern application in the mail! Hallelujah! I am so glad that is done. Now in another week I get to start watching the mail again waiting for my license.
Want to know something else dumb I discovered today? I took my first appraisal class at the community college in Carson City, which has a different name and is not connected to the one in Reno. The appraisal class is the only one I ever took there. Today when I pulled my record up it has my name listed as Christine. If that delays me getting my license because they don't think I took the class that is gonna make me so mad. How did the CC get my name so wrong?
I guess so. How did you enjoy that four hour commute every week?
They do, but it didn't print out on the unofficial transcript.
If I happen to not be doing anything on Friday, perhaps I will go to Carson City (again) and get it straightened out.
