Hello everyone. We are in need of prayer requests and advice. We have been caring for a sibling group of three. Ages 2, 8, and 12. We petitioned to adopt all three of them. We had both dad's signature's relinquishing rights and the mom is dying of terminal cancer. We are moving to another state with the children on Monday.
Well during the court appearance today the youngest childs dad wants to fight to get his custody back so they will not allow the 2 year old to leave the state with us. However, they are strongly encouraging us to take the other two children. We are extremely concerned with separating these children because each other is the only consistency they have ever had in their lives. They are really attached to us, and us to them.
Is it in the best interest to let them go into foster care in this state so they can have regular visits with their brother or take them with us where they will no longer see their brother? Please pray and help us

So the dad relinquished and now changed his mind? IF he signed, I'd sure have your attorney push it. Moving out of state at this time sure makes it hard. Probably one of you will have to stay with a friend or family until all is resolved. I'm very sorry for this. I pray that God give you the wisdom and guidance necessary.

I'm praying that some how our director of the children's safe house will find the mother to the child we are caring for so we can adopt him. Today, my housekeeper told me that the birth mother is afraid because if the authorities find her, they'll put her in jail. Call me dense, I didn't realize that.

What a tough situation. Is the father the same for all three children or just the baby?

There are two fathers. They both signed rights over to me through social services. I filed a petition to adopt so they had to track dad's down again to get them to sign a form eliminating them from a court date. Well, one of them (the 2 year olds dad) would not sign and said he decided he shouldnt have signed to begin with. We are still petitioning to adopt him regardless because I'm not so sure he wont change his mind again. It's really tough because we know what the effects could be of splitting the children up!
You have a baby?!? So exciting. I thought that safe haven places were so mom's could drop the baby off without having any consequences? Can they not move forward with an adoption if she doesnt show up? I really wish there were more laws that looked out for the best interest of the children. Yesterday, this family told me they were going to kidnap the children!
