I just wrote out a massive paragraph of why I am feeling rubbishy but realised just writing it helped me vent so I erased it. But the bit I will keep is:
-i feel further from God than ever like i don't even deserve to the read the bible anymore.-
because I really could use some advice or something. :(

If you are a Christian, every Spiritual blessing is yours already. Go read Ephesians and remember that Paul is speaking of how deserving you are/can be in Christ.

looking at your profile, I see you are very young. What is going on that is making you feel this way? Nothing anyone can do makes us less worthy to God or to reading the bible. Nothing.

Go before Him in prayer and share more here if you can, maybe we can help as well.

I didn't see the original OP but I would remind rachsquelch that anything she might have done to make her feel this way is in the past -- if there are tangible things you can do then do them but beyond that -- forgive yourself and commit to wholly serving God. You'll be amazed how worthy you are in His eyes.

"God is not all we would ask for(if we are honest)but it is precisely when we do not have what we would ask, only then, we can clearly perceive His all-sufficiency. It is when the sea is moonless that the Lord has became my Light" -Elisabeth Elliot-"Keep a Quiet Heart"

"The Lord is my light and my salvation-whom shall I fear? The Lord
is the stronghold of my life-of whom shall I be afraid?" -Psalm 27:1-

Don't let the enemy win. Your faith - your relationship with God should not be dependent on feelings. READ, READ, READ. Get back into enjoying your relationship with God - even if you don't "feel" it.

You think you aren't worthy enough to read the Bible?
Don't let the enemy get the best of you. If you really are a Christian and you have accepted Jesus Christ in your life, than you are saved.
Don't base your relationship with God just on feelings, that can be very dangerous.

God wants you to read the Bible.
And I want to tell you that the Bible talks about us and how much he loves us.
One scripture says that God notices every single bird on this earth and he takes notice when one bird dies. Do you have any IDEA how many birds are on this earth? Probably 2389472380947...and maybe even more! I don't really keep track ( )...but God does. And he says that you are far more important to Him than birds. He knows the numbers of hair on your body (literally.). He knows you by name. He knows your social security number...ok, you get the point. He knows everything and he cares for you SO much.

Don't let the enemy steal your joy. Rebuke him. He's telling you that you aren't worthy, he's trying to keep you away from God because he HATES God. But hold fast, don't let go. There's going to be a light at the end of this tunnel and one day, you will have victory. Live for Christ, don't let Satan rule your life!

I have gone through this before. I am a fairly new christian (2 years) and the beginning was such a high. It seemed God answered all my prayers, and my heart was on fire for him. Then slowly i lost that fire and I got worried, but low and behold God spoke to me. I went to service the next Sunday and my pastor reminded us that there have to be lows with the highs. If we had sunshine every day, we would have a desert. The rain isn't much fun, but we need it. I pray to feel God close to me and I know he is, but sometimes I feel far away, and that's ok. You'll get your fire back, just be patient. God Bless
