I can't find where it would be wrong at all. Is it odd or weird? Maybe to some people, but I think enough women do it that it's really not as odd as one might think. It's just not something people publicize.

Guys wanting women completely shaved down there I think should be examined a bit more closely as to their motives... but that is not really what you are asking about, I don't think.

I ocassionally shave everything 'down there' and even wish I could get a more complete shave down there. I find that I feel cleaner, and that my skin is much less irritated if I do that. It's a personal preference for me, although I don't usually keep it shaved all the time mostly due to the extra time and razor heads it takes.

I think most women trim down there - at least most that I've spoken with. If I don't shave it all off, I do keep it trimmed.

Some men claim they just don't like all that hair.

I keep things neat, but I don't shave completely.

No, I don't because I get a rash from shaving so it makes it itch.

Um, I shave anything outside the underwear area, well in the summer time anyway. I have trimmed it on occasion, but well, I have enough stuff to take care of. I don't think it makes that much of a noticeable difference anyway.

I trim and shave, using a little hair conditioner as shaving gel. Works a treat. I do it for me, I prefer it, feels cleaner somehow.

(btw I don't find the question bizarre at all!)

I keep everything trimmed and neat. Like Manda, I do it for myself not for anyone else I use a beard/mustache trimmer to keep things short but not shaved clean and I use a regular razor to do my bikini line.

Same here. I do just feel like I stay cleaner that way. May just be in my head, but it makes me feel better..!

I just trim. I have shaved many times before and probably will never do that again because it itches too much. Trimming works nicely.

I prefer it all gone, I use Nair for delicate skin.

I'm with you Memaw.. cleaner, easier, and just looks nicer.. don't like feeling like a yeti down there, if you ladies know what I"m saying.

Any advice though for keeping the horrible razor burn and itchies at bay? it's not the nicest, looking like you have to pee all the time in public.. LOL LOL

and for the record, I'm allergic to any creme hair removers.. Oooo... the thought of that near my "delicates"

Some people can avoid skin irritation and bumps by shaving with the "grain" instead of against it. It's not as smooth, but it can save you some bumps, ingrown hairs and irritation.

The newer and sharper the razor, the less the damage to the skin. At least with me, itching goes away after my skin gets used to the good old razor....just took a bit of time.

Nice to know I'm not the only person who has wondered this on occasion.
I find that I feel much cleaner (especially at certain times) if I keep things neat and trimmed.

Same here...razors break me out horribly enough on my legs and under my arms that I don't want to deal with it down there.

I wax all off...I do it myself... it hurts majourly.. but I have been doing this for years so- so I kind of know the pain level.. so I do it on a day where I know I can handle it.. best time, just before TOM.
It lasts for weeks and is much better than shaving as the end result is smooth. Hubby likes it, but I do it for me - was doing it before I even got married.

My niece gets a Brazilian wax and says the pain is not very bad, but then again she pushed out twins without epidural or pain meds! Yikes!!
I'll stick with the Nair

This is what I do as well. i shaved everything once when I was a teenager, then let it grow back and it was torture, it itched so bad! lol, I'll never do that again.

same here I dont like razor bumps and when I used to use a razor I would get a rash and razor bumps so I stop doing that and started using the nair.

No, its not abdormal -- I think its just whatever you're comfortable with. I can go either way, just depends on how much time I have.

Seeing how so many women have responded, I finally feel comfortable responding as well :-) I personally do like it trimmed. Don't like completely shaved because when it grows out it itches terribly! Haven't tried brazilian wax -- I can't imagine having someone else do it!! :-) Just a personal preference. I haven't tried nair down there either for same reasons as Maggie -- not next to my "delicates"! I personally do prefer trimmed because it does feel cleaner to me, and now feels weird when I don't trim. :-)

I shaved it ONCE, and it itched so bad when it was growing back that I swore never again. I use a small pair of sharp scissors and trim instead. I prefer it that way, and can trim it pretty short if need be.

I've thought about getting a Brazilian wax done, but the pain factor is a bit scary to me.. I find if I use a brand new disposable razor and shaving gel or lotion or whatever, then the rash or razor burn isn't so horrible either.
