I had a girlfriend of mine over to my house the other day and the Broncos were playing a game. She said she just couldn't miss the game so we brought a tv up in to the livingroom just so she could watch. Now my husband and I do not watch sports at all so maybe I am just biased on this issue. As the game got going she really got into it and was pretty loud yelling at the tv. This is the second time in my life I have experienced a woman getting so spirited over a football game. I have to say that I find this behavior to be very unladylike (my husband agrees). I was just wondering how other men felt about this. If you like watching sports with the women in your life do you prefer quiet spectating or someone who is into it with every fiber of their being?

I agree but I don't care for sports, I feel like saying hey its just a game. I have way better stuff to do with my time, but some people feel they need to get loud.. I would not want to date some one who was like that. Big Turn Off Mark

My dad watched football when I was growing up and I remember him occasionally getting loud but not too often. It just surprises me when I have witnessed women do it way more than my dad did.

I don't consider, being passionate about football, unladylike.... ...but I can't say the same about being a Broncos fan!

I wish my girlfriend was as interested in football as I was. No, I don't view it as "unladylike". Loud yelling wouldn't be appreciated, but other than that, it would be fun.

College football is more popular in the south, and it's a lot of fun to be hanging out with people of similar interest... even if pulling for opposing teams. Down here men and women are equally passionate about their alumni, and I do not see that as a negative. It's just a passion, it's their thing. Seems to me you were turned off just because you don't enjoy the game... different interest, and wrong crow to hang out with while watching the game. That's all, no biggie.

Hello 42servehymn Well, if I might be honest I would have to urge you and your husband to get a life. I cannot imagine a man not getting excited over some kind of sports. I'm not a football fanatic by any means but I do get involved with football. I come from Florida and am a Gator fan (Univ. of Fla.) Why, they've even got superman at quarterback. And did you know that on the 8th day that God made Gators?

One of the great pleasures of my life has been the opportunities I've had to enjoy football with my daughter. We are living in Arizona now, but remain fans of the Tennessee Titans and watch the team at every opportunity. I am a bit less vocal than she, and, to tell the truth, I know where some of her buttons are and occassionally push them to generate a greater response. Her love of the game in no way diminishes her as a woman. And it gives me a wonderful experience.

My wife is just as passionate about Formula 1 racing as I am. She knows their names, their teams, and is just as vocal as me in beating the commentators to the punch. I love it!

My wife is passionate about football, especially the Indy Colts, she has her Marvin Harrison and Peyton Manning "Fatheads" Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne jerseys,a two Colts tee-shirts, a visor and a hat! she doesn't miss a game and oh yeah, she yells at the t.v. coaching on the Colts as loud or louder than myself. Her biggest dream right now is to see the Colts play live especially now that they have their new stadium, (we live in Florida) AND I LOVE IT. Something else for us both to get connected to and enjoy in each others presence and neither myself or she has to go to someone else' house to watch the game. I am proud that she is my wife. She is and can be uh hum... ladylike when it calls for it, like Sunday morning services and the lady's meetings. SUNDAY AFTERNOONS ARE OUR TIME. Even both of my daughters and my two sons have Colts jersey's GO COLTS, See you in February!

For some like you it is dogs, friends, hobbies, church, business, jobs romance... yada yada. For others, the hobbies are football five to six months out of the year. This doesn't mean, btw, that just because we watch football that we can't be "romantic" it is nice on a Sunday to sit together covered up in our Colt's blanket watching the game and enjoying each others excitement during the game. It is all priorities that may differ from your own.

in case it's important to the man at least they'd know in this case she really enjoyed that sport ... many women enjoy sports before marriage and attend games and lose interest after marriage ... i guess that wouldn't happen here ...

So I guess those of you who like football appreciate enthusiasm from women spectators. Thanks for all your honest replies. Actually this girlfriend took me to my first ever professional baseball game this Summer. It was the Rockies and the Dodgers and the Dodgers won. We had a great time. She was loud there too but at least at a real game she is talking to someone who could actually hear her.

I wish my wife was a football fan instead of a baseball fan. At least football teams only play one 3-hour game a week, not four-six 3-hour games. -Dan.
