What pet peeves do you have? Rant on! I have a few.... I really don't like it when people refer to babies as "accidents". I much prefer "surprise" or "unplanned" even. I also can't stand it when people use that saying, "Well, my parents did/When I was a kid I did 'X' and I came out fine." I really don't like it when people stand really close to me in line (like to the point that I can feel or hear them breathe) at places like the DMV, grocery store, WIC office, etc. If they are foreign I cut them slack, but if they are American they ought to know better. I really don't like it when people refer to any Asian as "Chinese". If you can't tell the difference, use the word "Asian". I hate it when restaurants claim to be Mexican but they are really Southwestern or Tex-Mex. It's embarassing to walk in, look at the menu and leave. Not a big fan of black beans or corn salsa or cilantro-lime flavored white rice.

LOL sorry Christina I laughed at the standing in line one, that is annoying isn't it?! I don't like when the toilet seat is left up or there are skid marks left on the bowl, daily occurrence around here I don't like fakeness- so one minute someone is harsh or unkind, then they are being all nice and sweet. I see it on here sometimes, so its not just something that happens in real life. I don't like being ignored-if you have a problem, then talk about it with me, don't be childish and ignore me. I don't like people who lie. I can't stand, can't stand people who are late!! There is no excuse to constantly be late for things. I have two kids and I still manage to be organised to be early for things. I don't like racism, I don't like racist jokes. I don't like being referred to as "just" anything. I am not "just" a mum, housewife etc. I do my roles wonderfully well!! I don't like it when people don't reply to my text messages, emails when I know they have got them or have replied to other people. with the sleep deprived grumpy mood I am in I could go on forever LOL

I have a lot of pet peeves when it comes to the grocery store, but I avoid them by going first thing in the morning. I am basically the only one there and have free reign. One of my big pet peeves as of lately is poor customer service. I know people have bad days, but anymore those in customer service positions always seem to be unfriendly and not helpful. For the first time I called and ask to speak to a manager because of the rudeness I encountered at the customer service desk at our local Target. Can not stand to hear parents cussing at their children. Cussing in general is a pet peeve of mine, but to cuss at children is an even bigger pet peeve. Public displays of affection...don't get me wrong a sweet peck between two lovebirds, a hug, or holding hands is fine, no biggie. My husband and I have been known to do that a time or two. But, making out, hanging all over each other, and groping are unnecessary...in my honest opinion atleast.

I thought of another line one, it happened to me yesterday. I can't stand when people push in line!! There are a few cases where it can happen, say you are waiting in line at a checkout and they finally decide to open another one, so you start to head there after the cashier gives you the nod and someone jumps infront of you who wasn't even waiting! Argghhh. And yesterday I had the two kids, arms full with groceries, heading to the express checkout and this older women, nudges me, yes nudges me out of the way and pushes infront of me to get the checkout before I did. She looked at me and I just shook my head at her and went to a different one. Another time I was in line at the chemist (pharmacy), Grace and nath were both sick, I was waiting for someone to serve me, this old lady walked in and stoof infront of me and then the younger girl who I know had seen me, served her, even though she knew I was next. I spoke to someone about it after, but that really bothered me.1, the old lady pushing in and 2, the service. When I was a checkout chick, I served whoever was next, there was no pushing in at my counter! LOL

I hate people who lie. I hate folks who assume a persona that is not theirs. I hate arrogant condescending people who treat others as less superior than them. I hate trouble-makers. I hate folks who take advantage of vulnerable or weak people. I hate folks who hurt you and are in denial or justify it away.

*Re grocery stores: people who park their carts in the middle of the aisle and then walk all over the store to fill up their cart, leaving it where it was *Grocery stores that stock the shelves during normal shopping hours (anything after 7, the stockign should be done) *Bosses who only give you vague instructions, then seem annoyed when you don't do it exactly as they wanted *Lights that stay green when nobody is on the street to go through the intersection, yet the other way is totally full.

~People who pull out in front of me when I am driving 65 then go 40. Can't stand that, either. We have a lot of two-lane roads here and I get frustrated when I get behind old men in their trucks driving 45 in a 55 or 65, you can see them sightseeing, gawking at other peoples' fields, cows, etc. Loud gum-chewers/loud eaters. So annoying. I'm totally with you on the rude customer service, Chelle, the concept of good service is completely disappearing . . . . . Poor grammar. I know I type in a hurry on here sometimes and make mistakes, everyone messes up now and then, but I constantly see "then" when "than" should be used, people don't use the correct "their, there, they're", incorrect apostrophe use, incorrect adverb use (or lack of adverb use), etc. etc. LOL!! It's not just on here, it's all over, even in professional marketing campaigns and news broadcasts, online articles that should be proofed by editors. It really gets to me. Parents who allow their children to talk back or continually misbehave while making threat after threat and counting (to 100, LOL) without consequences for the behavior. Condescending attitudes. Especially from doctors and medical staff. I know my own body. I know my children. This is a tough one . . . . . and I might get flamed . . . . . . our church is right on a major highway, the first landmark when coming into town. People.stop.constantly.wanting.money. The man will sit in the car and send the woman inside to give their hard-luck story. They also call constantly. We had a call Sunday evening that hubby answered . . . . a lady wanted a room for her and her boyfriend because his mom kicked them out of the house. . . . . . . Now, our church is very benevolent, we have a food pantry, help the local rescue mission, etc. so we will do anything in our means to help someone in need. Someone who is truly in need. Not someone who just *won't* help him/herself. Some are extremely ungrateful. Hubby and I are praying for right attitudes . . . . as you can tell, it's not been easy to deal with . . . . . and it gets hard to discern those who really need help. Eta: We will give a box of food to whomever walks in the door, no problem. But most people demand cash. Or they come in and we invite them to stay for service and say we'll help them afterward and they refuse to sit through service. OK, that was a long one, LOL!!! I need to stop ranting and go pray . . . . .

speaking of customer service: *leaving a message with the doctor or related person and not getting phone call back. A receptionist telling me that I may need to call back if my call isn't returned. YOU are in the customer service business. YOU need to serve me. Not the other way around. I don't serve myself. *my dental billing office phone number incorrect on a statement dated 7/31/08. *people I'm conversing with telling my WHY all my life decisions aren't the best. (My boss is constantly telling me my landlord's going to screw me, I shouldn't rent but rather buy, etc.)

Well...forgive me for this...I'm not having the best morning, so this could come out a little strong. I don't like tail-gaters. I drive the speed limit, maybe 5 over, but I'm not slow. Unless it is a tail-gater...then I slow down below just to let them know their rudeness will not make me speed. I hate seeing kids that are dangerously over weight. I realize some kids have more of a struggle with their weight, but when the parents of a 150 lb 10 year old allow him/her to eat an adult size meal at McDonald's (and "supersize it") I get really annoyed with those parents. I hate it when people don't return their carts in the parking lot. I don't like getting door dings because someone was too lazy to walk 50 feet. I don't like it when kids run wild in restaurants and then their parents say, "oh, he's two". Well, I have a two yr old too but I expect him to stay in his seat and learn to be considerate of others. I don't like those loud, thumping stereos in cars. They should be outlawed. And here's probably the biggest one...people who throw their cigarette butts out the car window! Don't they realize they are littering? Do they not think about the possible consequences, like forest fires?

people who throw their cigarette butts out the car window! I was mad about this one the other day. I was stopped at a light and counted like 20 cigarette butts right beside the car! Then I got all mad because birds and dogs eat them and end up sick or dead. Plus they pollute our water big time. [/color] One time, I saw some gal pull into a parking lot and as she was driving in she threw her cigarette out. I couldn't help myself...once she went into the store, I picked up the butt (still smoldering), and put it under her windshield wiper. Do you think she got the hint??? LOL! Good for you. One time when I was a teenager and working in a restaurant, a man came in puffing away. I politely told him, "Sir, we are a non-smoking restaurant" and he said "Well, here ya go then" and shoved his cigarette butt into my hand and walked off!! I was left standing there looking like an idiot with his nasty lit cigarette. I didn't even know what to do with it, I had never even held a cigarette, I was only 16, LOL!!! I was so hacked off at that guy . . . . . .

Carts - That is a huge pet peeve of mine too. It doesn't take that much effort to put them where they belong or out of the way. Lines - Why or why do stores insist on having 1-2 lines open when there are 20 people trying to check out.

Let's see... People who let their dogs roam outside without a leash or supervision. It's so dangerous for the dog, not to mention the mess a roaming dog leaves, and possible run-ins with neighbors, human or dog. Related...people who don't train their dogs, then complain about their dogs "misbehaving". How can they *mis*behave when you never taught them how to *behave*. People who talk on a cell phone at the head of the line while other people are waiting. I work at a community college and I'm the staff advisor for the broadcasting club. I hate, hate, hate when I give students very clear and detailed guidelines about the process to plan out a project for the club (it's practically fill-in-the-blanks!) and they don't do it and complain about how the club never does anything. And perhaps my biggest one... Using "have a family" to mean having children. I don't have children, but I do have a family, thank-you-very-much!

If it's always like that then it's a problem...with the lines. However, it could be that they don't have enough cashiers in...either because they have called out or whatever

When people choose to stay home from church then ask me what the sermon was about. Not talking about sick people, or people who could not make it, but perfectly healthy people, who chose to stay home and watch TV, then ask me about church, and the service and did you see so and so, and what did they say. Well if you want to know then go. Or get the tape. People who talk to me early in the morning.

Even though he is the biggest teddy bear ever, he looks very menacing. I would not want someone to have a heart attack if they saw our pooch heading right for them. I ALWAYS keep him on a lease.

People who talk to me early in the morning. ROFL!! I'm the same way . . . . I am a morning person, but when I first wake up, I *need* a few minutes of silence to wake up before I start talking. When I was growing up at home (especially as a teen) my dad would be SO cheerful in the morning and tried start up cheerful, chatty conversations first thing. NO. LOL!

There are some cities that have ordinances against loud music in cars. Where I grew up it was 25 feet. If it could be heard more than 25 feet away, you could (and sometimes would) get a ticket. *There's a grocery chain here that has a "3's a crowd" policy. If there are more than 3 people in line, they open another checkout. I've never been in there with less than 3 people in line and have never seen them open a new checkout. *Delivery, installation, servicemen, etc who are 2 hours late for an appt.
