I've had two. The first was when I was about 14 or 15. I was in the science lab, and out of the blue, my science teacher just said, "One day you're going to make somebody a wonderful wife". The second was a few years ago. I was taking singing lessons and my singing teacher said, "One of your songs would minister to people much better than a 45 minute sermon".

One thing I DO know is that DaveW's doctrine is usually rather solidly founded in scripture. Thanks PapaSan!

A short time before my wonderful wife of 53 years went to meet the Lord, she called me "a Hopeless Romantic". My fiance said she didn't think she would ever find anyone like me. We are being married a week from tomorrow.

Overall, the 2 best compliments that anyone can ever give to me are when they express either their respect (of) or trust in me. I would rather be respected and trusted over anything else. Last year, I was blessed to receive both compliments simulataneously . . . by 2 different people. After everything was said and done regarding CS's probate, 2 of his heirs both came to me on separate occasions. As some background, both of these men, by their own words, didn't like me nor did they trust me. That's putting it very midly . . . compared to what they actually said - to me and to other people. During all that ick and yuck, the things that they and other people had said and speculated about me hurt me probably more than any words ever had. As I mentioned above, last year, after probate had essentially closed, both of these men came to me within days of each other and told me that their families had been very wrong about me. They also both sincerely apologized to me, told me that I was a woman of my word and that I would always have their respect and trust for how I handled things during probate.

Years ago, a woman that I used to work with told me that she knew that I was a Christian because I'm so different to other people.

I was about 20 years old and had stopped at a garage sale. The seller, an elderly lady, walked up to me and said, "You are a child of God, I can see His light shining from your eyes." I still remember that moment 25 yrs later.

I've had several, but the two most notable are: My youth leader sent me a short letter saying "You quietly proclaim the Lord by the way you live your life. You're the kind of leader in student ministry that makes a difference." I hold onto that as one of my greatest encouragements. My best friend Jared just gave me a hug for no reason at all. That may not sound like much, but it was the way he did it. I could just read a lot of trust and love in it.

Usually about my singing voice. People who know I am a believer before they know me comes in second. Recent: My boss calls me the "office goddess." What my husband said a few days ago.

I don't know -- today, I am thinking it came form the tiny child who was my 3.5-year-old daughter's little friend about 34 years ago. She introduced me to her own mother by saying, "And this is Jenny's mom!" Wow, did my heart swell! I caught my breath. I have never reacted so with any other compliment. "Jenny's mom." That's me! And my son's mom! They are the best!

The biggest compliment I ever got was when someone told me they weren't good enough for me. Grant it, it hurt at the time but now I see it as a compliment. What he didn't know was that I didn't think I was good enough for him.

I always get the same compliments: "You have nice hair" or "You have gorgeous eyes." Erm, I guess when my Dad used to pay attention to me and he used to tell me how great I played the piano. I don't get many compliments or conversations from him, haha.

When I was 19 y/o, I worked at a small factory in Reston, VA. I got the job when my older brother had quit. One day my dad picked me up from work and when I introduced one of the salesmen to him, the salesman responded that dad had 2 really good boys that he should be proud of. Even today, 31 years later, remembering the look of pride on my dad's face gives me great satisfaction for honoring dad through who were (are) and how we carry ourselves. I don't think that dad knows how much I took it as a compliment, also.
