Dont' know their names........I think they were formally an accapella group.....BSA has hired them to continue on as Crystal River.
I really liked the "old" Crystal River......and I was really interested in how the new group sounded.

I checked the BSA website when I saw the Dollywood schedule. I didn't recognize any of the faces, but there is still a Crystal River Quartet.

My trio is Crystal River. It started about 10 years ago as an all male quartet called Crystal River Boys (Pat Barker currently of DE was an original member) and it changed to Crystal River four years ago when I joined. We like to believe we're the originals ...we don't mind these other groups sharing the name since we're not trying to hit the big time - our ministry is for the small churches and local events that can't afford big bucks...we don't charge a cent!

Yes, baritone77, Crystal River is formally ChoZen Acapella. The three guys in the group are: Ben Mooney (Tenor), Tony Churchill (Lead) & Randy Gober (Baritone). Randy's family also has a group known as The Gobers.

If anyone is interested and can make it, Crystal River along with Jeff & Sherri Easter will be performing at Central Community Church in Covington, GA on October 18th at 7:00pm.

I'm looking forward to that concert. I think the guys sound great.

Haven't heard the NEW guys yet. I think the group they were with was from NE GA. I heard at Dollywood this week that they have re-recorded Crystal River CDs with them singing the same songs, don't know for a fact. I do know that most of the songs that CR was singing was written by Glenn Bates, Beckie Simmons husband and were produced on BSA label.

I wanted to apologize because I put the wrong date for the concert in Covington. It is actually October 17th (Friday night). I saw an annoucement today that said that Annette Herndon will be at the concert as well.

I will be attending the concert in Covington, GA on Friday night. I will report back regarding the concert. I am looking forward to hearing Crystal River in person. I really liked them when they were ChoZen acapella.

The concert was at Central Community Church in Covington, GA.

Cecil Hodge (Hodge Enterprises), a promoter from Loganville, GA was the emcee for the evening. The concert was free and Cecil mentioned at some point during his introductions that the concert cost $6000 to put on. They did take up a donation though.

First up was Annette Herndon from Bethlehem, GA. I really enjoyed talking to her before and after the concert. She looked great tonight. She sang the following songs: (Annette wrote most of the songs that she sang tonight. She did not write The River of God or A New Name In Glory)
1) Set My Feet On The Rock
2) The River of God
3) My Hero Of Calvary (my personal favorite)
4) Arms Wide Open,
5) None but Jesus w/video (This song has been recorded by Eternal Praise)
6) Jesus Loving Me
7) King of Kings
8) One Sweet Day
9) A New Name In Glory.

Second in the lineup was Crystal River (formerly of ChoZen Acapella). This group is made up of Ben Mooney (tenor), Tony Churchill (Lead) & Randy Gober (baritone). Tony gave part of his testimony during their set. He also mentioned that he wasn't feeling well tonight. He had caught something from his little girl. The guys sounded great. Randy did be-boxing and he was good! They sang the following songs:
1) Faith Takes A Stand
2) Jesus Is Coming (i think that's the title)
3) Jesus Is Always Doing Something
4) An Old ChoZen acapella song
5) Mercy River
6) There Is A Hope
7) I Stand In Awe
8) Can't Even Walk.

Last but not least, Jeff and Sheri Easter. Sheri looked awesome! Jeff mentioned that Sheri has been through 3 rounds of chemo and had 3 more left. She is cancer free. Madison (20 yrs old) on guitar, Morgan (15 yrs old) singing soprano, Maura Grace (3 yrs old) - she is adorable, Kyle Callaway (21 yrs old) on drums. The only negative thing tonight was Morgan shouldn't sing on stage with gum in her mouth. She would chew it every time she stopped singing. Jeff announced tonight that on Monday night (10/13), Madison asked his girlfriend of 4 years, Shannon, to marry him. She was there tonight. She helps run the product table and watch Maura Grace. He proposed at the Lewis Family Homeplace. The songs they sang tonight were:
1) Life's Great & Gettin' Better
2) Praise His Name (Sheri was emotional during this song)
3) I'll Claim The Victory
4) Livin In The Rain - just Jeff & Sheri sang this
5) She Loved
6) I Need You More Today - Morgan sings the verses
7) You're My Best Friend - Jeff & Sheri sang this to each other
8) This Is Just What Heaven Means To Me - Guest singer, Logan Smith (11 yr old boy from Covington, Ga
that sounds like Vestal Goodman - boy can he sing)
9) Goin' Home Party
10) John Saw
11) Roses Will Bloom Again
12) Song about Jonah & the whale - sang with Crystal River (or at least the guys tried to sing it)
13) I Wouldn't Take Nothing For My Journey - sang it with Logan Smith & Crystal River
14) What A Lovely Name - sang it with Logan Smith & Crystal River
15) The Sunny Side of Life - sang it with Crystal River & Annette Herndon
