Why do women (some women) like to shop and insist on dragging their husbands along with them? My wife loves to shop. Me? I'd rather watch paint dry on a humid day rather than go shopping. Then she insists on me going with her. We've been married for over two decades and I still can't figure this one out. Truthfully, it is irritating. I have even told her that. But she bugs me until I give in and go. So, I will then walk around the store a few dozen times just for the exercise.

I wouldn't know, since I would never do that to anyone, male or female ("drag" them around). Just go, walk around, take a book and sit, whatever. Or ask her why she really wants you to go. Maybe she just feels like you don't spend enough time together. Or she's trying to involve you in something she's interested in. Or say "No, I'm not going, there's no point to it, the end."

She probably just wants to be with you and talk to you. My husband is like this too. Me, I don't need to stop by Target all the time. He likes to go to Target and check out the clearance or go to an auction or a garage sale. I know he wants to connect with me so I go. Either view this is a way to spend time with your wife and serve her or tell her that you just don't enjoy the time and that it feels like time following her and not time WITH her. Suggest she take a friend along instead. Then tell her you would like to spend time together doing X (taking a walk, doing the dishes, etc). Something more neutral you can both enjoy.

I agree that it seems that your sweetie just wants you to share in an activities that she enjoys. I personally don't like to shop. My husband made me go to the mall and find something nice to wear on my last birthday. His female co-workers thought that I would really like that but he knew it wasn't what I like to do. The real reason was that I needed a nice outfit to wear to a particular restaurant and needed something new and nice anyhow. When we must go buy something, I do like to hunt for a bargain. We also enjoy people watching. Perhaps trying to figure out a fantastic life history for some of your fellow shoppers will help make it more interesting. Just a thought.

She enjoys shopping and wants to enjoy it with you. She's just looking for some QT with her hubbie I think.

60% off???? Where??? Like in all marriages, there has to be give and take. I don't take M'love into Bed Bath and Beyond because he doesn't like to over abundance of cinnamon air freshener in there. All other stores are game. It is always understood that there will be a stop at Best Buys or Radio Shack, or the electronics section at Sam's Club.

That is so funny ,I do agree about it can be irritating an a distraction to shop with most men..because they don't enjoy the experience and rush and complain etc Even with some women also may not be pleasant experience as people do have different styles to go shoping. I do take my time, my coupons, hunting for the best deal for the money and I usually do not take my glasses that I need to wear to see things better and than I will taken more time, even may get lost if I am by myself..LOL and yes, it is fun "shop unil you drop", later have a bite and maybe go to the near by movie theater also.. and have the foot burning as arriving home with just a single item, but a true great deal for the money. I dont know why your wife enjoy shopping with you but she just may really enjoy having you around.

Maybe she just doesn't want to go by herself. A lot of people feel very uncomfortable if they are out in public alone. Or, she might just want folks to see what a great husband she has.

I've somehow managed to be obnoxious enough while shopping, for the past 25 years, that my wife absolutely does not want me to come along. On the rare occasion we actually go to a mall together, I either take a book and hole up in a coffee shop, or just go to Barnes & Noble, if the mall has one. Works for us!

I personally would rather my husband stay home. Shopping is much more fun with a girl friend. Now while on vacation we may go outlet shopping together and I do enjoy that (so does he though).

I personally don't like to shop all that much. Every once in a while I'll do it - but not too often. I'm not married, but I would assume that she wants to be able to bond with him. A lot of men would like it if their wives showed some interest in their hobbies and would even join them in it from time to time. Women like this as well. If I meet someone who doesn't like to shop either, we'll be perfectly matched. We can race to see who can get all of their stuff and get out of the store the fastest!

Personally, when the urge to shop grabs me, I drag a female friend along. Maybe your wife just wants to spend some time with you, and this is the only way she can think of doing so??? Are you generally an unavailable husband?

I do not like to go shopping. The only good thing about it is walking around and getting some exercise.
