Revelation 13: 1-5
1And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 2And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. 3And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. 4And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? 5And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies
Ok, I know this is going to be pulled to pieces, as many have very different opinions to who, where and what this is talking about or describing. I thought I’d put it up anyway as a good subject to drag out some heated discussion. Hehehehe. So rip away everyone, I’ve boarded up my doors and windows and put my gum shield in. LOL
I was looking at these verses and cross ref through Daniel etc and looked at what other books said about the agreed imagery between them.
It was pretty much agreed that the ‘waters’ represented the nations and their peoples.
It was also agreed by ‘many’, but not all, that both Daniel and John were seeing all the beast like world empires that would proudly dominate throughout history.
It says at the end of verse 2 that it is Satan (the dragon) that has given these empires his power and his seat and authority.
In revelation 14, from John’s viewpoint in history, he is shown that there have been five of these empires, and one was current at that time, the Roman Empire;
(And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space)
The next thing I noticed was that John saw that one of the heads had been badly wounded, but here the world marvelled because it had recovered;
(3And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast)
Many films and books and eschatology writers have made the mistake of saying that the person anti-Christ will be wounded so it looks as if he is dead, but by a miracle will appear to rise from the dead. I think that this is a mistake, and both John and Daniel were being shown that this was not a person, but empires, or political powers that would rise and have power over the earth for a time.
So what of the wound on one of the beasts heads?
Well, ‘IF’ this is correct, then although each empire had a time of power throughout history, the revelation here indicates that each empire is of one beast, who is Satan. A beast that is represented by seven heads of domination.
John saw that five had already been, and that one currently is at John’s time (Roman Empire) and that this one would be again in the future.
Was there anything that happened during the Roman Empires reign that could be described as wounding that empire, or indeed, wounding Satan, so badly that it appeared unto death?
Gen 3: 14-15 - And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: 15And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Here is the first prophecy where we see Jesus being promised. ‘Her Seed’, is our messiah.
God tells us here that Satan will bruise Jesus heal. Or in other words, will cause Jesus serious pain and damage. The crucifixion was the fulfilment here.
Jesus would bruise Satan’s head. Much more damaging, and almost to death, ‘but not quite’!
It was during the Roman Empires reign that Satan was dealt a real death blow to his plans for mankind. The very thing that was supposed to destroy Jesus, was the very thing that almost destroyed Satan. One day it will, but as we know, not yet!
That should have been it! Mankind’s pride should have been destroyed and man should have been saved. But not all men believed the good news. It’s true that as the Gospel spread throughout the Roman Empire, it finally did enough damage to all but destroy the empire, but not quite. A kind of reflection to what Jesus’ victory did to Satan.
However, Not all men believed the good news, and over the years, and the further we get away from that glorious day, both Satan, and wicked men’s hearts have been working hard to destroy God’s authority and destroy the power of the cross, through lies, deception and a jealous lust in men’s hearts to have ultimate power separate from God.
I think that the wound to death that recovered was Jesus’ victory over Satan on the cross. It recovers because of man’s apostasy, so Satan once again will lead a world empire that stems from a recovery, and is the same beast as all of the other empires.
This final effort of man and Satan will see a world government that the world will marvel at, because they thought that the concept of a world empire dictatorship was finished. Or they’ll marvel at it because they thought they’d seen the last of it because of the Gospel and Christ’s victory, but here it is!
Anti-Christ will rise up to take control of this final attempt to re-build Babel, and turn it into the Satanic empire where men will have to worship Satan or die.
Ok, let the battering commence! LOL

Empires do not speak blasphemies, people do. This "mouth" or "mouthpiece" for it to speak would be a representitive .
People call several things "The Mouthpiece of Corporate America"
So, there would be a "The Mouthpiece of of the "Beast"

Yep, read that just now. I agree with you, it aint a man these scriptures are talking about, although the man of sin may well come up through it, it's clearly talking about an empire and kingdoms.
I agree that the wound is refering to the roman empire reviving, but i feel it also has a deeper meaning linked with it, refering to the wound Jesus gave Satan and his empire plans wean He went to the cross. It's been well documented the huge effect Christ had on the nations from that point on, yet that is crumbling as men again go head long down the road of dictatorship and rejection of that truth.
But yes bro', I agree with you.
