REAL TREE PROS
The smell

REAL TREE CONS
allergies
messy
have to water
have to go find one
more expensive in the long run
doesn't always look right
not always the same size
dies too early

FAKE TREE PROS
cheaper in the long run
cleaner
no watering
always have it with you

FAKE TREE CONS
doesn't smell like Christmas --- although since I don't remember real trees growing up, the smell isn't Christmas. Christmas is the snow to me. And I don't get that here.

My personal preference is artificial. But I think this year we're doing one of each.

I have done both in the past...
The last 15 years I have had an artificial tree. Since we got a fireplace in our home, the real tree's dry out way to fast!
After Christmas time last year, I found a lovely artificial tree that was marked down to $30. The org. price was $150. So I'm excited to put it up this season. It's all decorated and even has lights on it.

I've had both, too. But it's been fake for the past 20 or so years. I don't mind though, because most of my ornaments wouldn't hang on a real tree.

Real trees growing up...but when fake trees began to look real we switched. The real ones just dried up too fast. With the fake one we can put it up on Thanksgiving and keep it up past New Year. (And the cats are not so inclined to climb it!)

I had real one's while i was growing up, but now I have a fake one, and I like it, I just get candles that smell like a real Christmas tree
