I just wrote what I think is a pretty good devotional. Any suggestions on how and where I could submit it for publication? Or is this just a pipedream? Seems like most of the devotional writer's I see have "credentials." I'm just a man of faith, a family man, and an office worker. I'm not a minister or a writer.

I don't know where to suggest that you submit it for publication.

But, I would suggest you may just be a writer and not know it At least that is what happened with me....

There are a number of daily devotionals (such as The Upper Room) that purchase devotions from "uncredentialed" individuals. The devotions just have to be well written, well thought out, and scriptural--and meet the publication's guidelines, which is always a requirement. The guidelines are usually available on the publications' web sites.

Sally Stuart's Christian Writer's Market Guide lists a number of devotional publications you can try. You might want to see if your local library has a copy.

There are so many religious magazines out there, I think you ought to check out the 2009 Writer's Digest book (your library may have it). Or simply type "Christian magazines" into a search engine.

It is not a pipedream at all! I am a freelance writer and know many people who write devotionals.
