Thank you, Father, for Barack Obama. Even when he was a young boy of modest means, being raised by a single mother and his grandparents, you knew him and knew that this most unlikely story would unfold as it has and that he would be selected to lead our nation at this difficult hour in our history. Whether Barack's election is a blessing from your own hand (as I choose to believe) or a curse from the evil one (as some of your people may believe) or perhaps something in between, I pray that you will use it for good, to bless America and accomplish your will. Barack has confessed before men that he has experienced salvation through faith in Your Son's atoning work on the cross. As he begins to feel the weight of his new responsibilities, I pray that he will truly seek you with all his heart and find in you, the wisdom he needs to lead our great land. I pray, Lord, for reconciliation: between Barack and the Christian leaders who were outspoken opponents of his candidacy and also between other believers who have found themselves at odds with each other politically because of this election. Bring about forgiveness and open the lines of communication so that Barack can "be educated" on some of the issues that are important to us. Please watch over Barack and his family and protect them from harm. In Jesus' Name
