Am I the only one that has a hard time praying for a complete strangers that I've never connected with? I know, I know, I've made a prayer requests too. But I have to admit, the only once I've prayed for are the prayers of people I've exchanged a few emails and PMs with or for someone whose requests is something I can directly relate to. In real life, I will only pray for someone after I've sat down and spoken with them and have exchanged some minor personal information with them. Does anyone else feel like this?

I used to have trouble praying for people I didn't really know too. However, I found the more I did it the easier it got. It became easier for me to visualize them in my mind.

The more 'vested' in a situation the personal and connected we became because we discover 'they' have hopes and dreams, victories and disappointments just like us. Sometimes that little threatening maybe because we feel their 'realities', earned or not, potentially could 'rub off' on us. I say, 'Bring them on!' I'll deal with the aftermath later but I expect results, His results not mine(ours).

It is harder to pray for those we don't know or don't understand their needs and something I need to work on as well.

Prayer is somethign I struggle with that's why this is my second thread on prayers in less than a month. I'm even reading a Yancey book on it. I am in constant communication with God through out the day. But when it comes to reading a prayer request, I have to be able to relate to the request or the situation to feel that I can pray about it. It becomes a personal issue when I've connected with the request or with the person. I know that the forum that I hang out in which is the singles forum, it's easier for me to pray for their requests because I know them in some measure, so it was like praying for someone I know. But when I go into the big prayer thread here, it's very hard for me to pray.
