Greetings, All!
This thread exists for the sole purpose of sharing a deep thought you've never had until the day you post it, especially if it is going to cause you to lose sleep by not just sharing it with someone, anyone- and yet you are a poster/threader/pollster and love to communicate through keystrokes. All forum rules are of course in effect. So that's what will be seen here- no replies, or debating, just as if you were willing to share a page of a diary with the world. Don't quote anyone else's work, just dare to share, and who knows- maybe you'll see a PM show up every now and then for your effort. To be clear, these are not things you've worked on for some time to say just right. In this case, I've had this thought before, but it's been a long time since it's come to mind, so such a situation is a good candidate for this thread. They can be light-hearted, sure, but a deep thought should encourage someone to pause for a minute and think.

My deep thought for the day was on those big three powerful words that Wes King sings about- 'don't say "I love you" too soon'. My thought is this, that as soon as those words are voiced, that they can become a requirement, or replacement, or a rescuing from an awkward silence. They can be thrown out at a hopeful solution, or as a band-aid, or an apology. They can become said more than other words, commanding most of a conversation. They can become a drug, that without hearing on a daily basis can cause insecurity, doubt, anxiety. What does that do for those three words later when in a marriage setting. Do they replace actions of affection? Do they become childish and lose their meaning. So I would encourage that if they are used, they are already so evident by each other's actions to each other. Don't be desperate to hear something that you are not seeing so you can believe. Don't be saying something to someone you don't see ready to accept, or even for you to be ready to back up. Do keep Christ at the center of your relationship, and pray for and listen for his guidance in the excelence of love.

In Christ,
OneJohn410

Oh yeah! This is really great! Maybe the subject throws it off. This is for anyone to add to- it's not just for me.

Maybe I shouldn't have use the word deep, but something more like middlin', or approaching the deep end.

And sure, if they've been lurnking thoughts, but not everyday lurkers, and all of a sudden you just must say something, bring it on.

Thanks,
OneJohn410

It's been quite some time since I had a deep thought....hurts too much!

But I do remember quite some time after my dad died that I realized he was a person too! I was a teen when he died. He was quite strict and most of the time I felt like I was being treated terribly wrong. When I finally did have this realization, it occurred to me that he may have had problems, maybe even bad days, etc. which had never occured to me while I was so wrapped up in my own teen world.

Being an adult now, I often think about my dad. I wonder what he thought, wonder what bothered him, wonder how he felt about being a parent, wonder what it was like when he was in the Navy, wonder how it was for him to loose both parents when he was only 3, and on and on. I wish he were hear to tell me.

Thanks for sharing, TexasMoma. I forgot I had a post in Misc! Anyone stuck awake in a deep thought that won't let you go, here's the place to leave it behind, and maybe pick it up later, or just leave it to leave it.

Anyone drive an old car? Like 10 years old or so?

There's been a heightened awareness that my presence on the roadways is more of an obstacle than a legitimate taker of space over distance. For example... for a car to navigate to an exit ramp two lanes to my right, the vehicle behind me must first pass quickly in front of me, then cut across two lanes to the exit lane and take the exit.

Are they looking to see who's in my car? Hey! Are you lookin' at me?!!!? I don't understand it. Simply drive behind me, slow down a little, look to get over there, and take the off ramp. Why must you pass me to then go to my right? It's like it is standard driving procedure now.

My deep thought for the evening is that I will 'mash' my horn solid for a couple seconds next time and not pack in that anger in any temporary storage location.

Thank you very much.

I like to look upon those type drivers as ones who feel a sense of security with me. I feel they trust me much more than the other drivers to not bash into them.

Actually, I had this deep thought yesterday: I seem to like the idea of being a follower of Christ more than I like actually like following Christ. I've been following Christ for only the past 10 years or so.

I've parked in a parking lot head to head with Jesus, though He wasn't in His car and was gone when I left. However, I've never been on the road behind someone who had Christ on their license plate. Care to elaborate on your deep thought?
