What goes through your mind, what are you thinking when a man asks you to dance? I'm not talking about a stranger; I'm thinking it is someone you know casually and maybe have not seen in years. My scenario: I went to my high school reunion last year and saw a classmate that was more of an acquaintance than a friend, even though we had gone to school together since the 3rd grade. I had not seen this woman in more than 30 years. After clearing it with my wife, I asked her to dance----she accepted. It was fun and we laughed about it together.

How do you feel when an old friend (acquaintance) asks you for a dance?

In some ways it depends on the people involved. At my 20th reunion an old bf asked me to dance and began to suggest "getting together" in more than a platonic manner. I put him in his place. But then I also danced with a lot of other old friends without incident or suspicion. It was a lot of fun other than the old bf who was a jerk in high school. Seems he was still a jerk!

Depends on the guy, his grooming, attitude and good manners. Usually if it's not slow dancing it's fun.

It depends on the dance. If it is a Contra dance, then by all means. If it were a swing dance, sure, but only one because I realllllly love dancing with m'love. If it were a line dance, well, that's not really dancing together. If it were a slow dance, no, but would suggest they join us at our table to chat and catch up.

I think so too.

I would just add that the circumstances surrounding the dance request are another aspect that I take into consideration.
