For those of you who lived in Southern California, Lloyd Thaxton had a teenage dance show that was unusual. He incorporated teenage dancing with skits such as the infamous "Finger People", when he drew faces on his fingers and his fingers moved to music and were like puppets, lip synching ( he was the pioneer on that before the Milli Vanilli controversy) with him moving his mouth to popular tunes and having the audience particpate in a makeshift choir. Thaxton went on to become a game show host and was the executive producer of the nationally syndicated consumer affairs program, "Fight Back," and authored a book called, "Stuff Happens." Thaxton loved to communicate via his blog to commnicate to his fans of his show. He often shared his experiences in show business and especially his televison show. One of his stories was regarding James Brown and his apperance on his show. Many of the affliates in the south would not carry his show because of James Brown, but Thaxton threatned to pull his show because of various issues in the south and the station managers not showing that particular program. Thaxton died on Sunday, October 5th in Los Angeles. I will miss his wit and his humor, especially on his blogs.
