I have been working on a project for a good long while now that I want to turn into an educational video series. As a professional 3D artist, I have some of the post production tools and contacts I would need to complete the project, and I have a lot of the material assembled that I would need to use to structure the series (functionally, it is a history series covering an OT survey, NT survey, and a survey of Church History). I've also done a lot of outline work and come up with some stylistic elements to drive the look in order to keep the audience engaged in the material, but I'm about to the point where the bulk of the material and the scope of the project is too much for just one person to put it all together.

I'm hoping someone out there has some experience in putting a production together and can give me some pointers on how to procede from here. One of the biggest issues (or so it seems to me) is getting people involved who are sufficiently grounded in Scripture and share the same heart for this sort of ministry (the goal is to have a shortened version available for download free online and DVDs available at a cost that is inexpensive but sufficient to maintain ongoing productions).

If you've got professional experience in this area, I would greatly appreciate any resourse material and recommendations you might have.

Thanks,

You could try contacting Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany GA. They are the church that wrote and produced the movies Flywheel, Facing the Giants and Fireproof. They might be able to help you or steer you in the right direction.

start off by reading Phil Vischer's book, "Me, Myself and Bob".

of course, Phil is the guy who was the "brainchild" behind "Veggie Tales"...

In it, he talks of his challenges in doing exactly what you have in mind....his victories...and defeats....

if anything...it'll be good inspiration.....and, a good lesson.....

i THOROUGHLY enjoyed the book....as I am an art director/designer working for a great company in a corporate creative services dept.

good luck!
