20 “Moreover you took your sons and your daughters, whom you bore to Me, and these you sacrificed to them to be devoured. Were your acts of harlotry a small matter, 21 that you have slain My children and offered them up to them by causing them to pass through the fire?

The worship of various pagan gods (Molech and Baal among others) required children to be sacrificed in fire. What I have heard is that this was done into a furnace shaped like the head of a god, which the child put into the mouth, being devoured.

Jeremiah 19:5
5and have built the high places of Baal to burn their sons in the fire as burnt offerings to Baal, a thing which I never commanded or spoke of, nor did it ever enter My mind;

Leviticus 18:21
21'You shall not give any of your offspring to offer them to Molech, nor shall you profane the name of your God; I am the LORD.

Deuteronomy 12:31
"You shall not behave thus toward the LORD your God, for every abominable act which the LORD hates they have done for their gods; for they even burn their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods."

Psalm 106:38
And shed innocent blood, The blood of their sons and their daughters, Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan; And the land was polluted with the blood.

I make this challenge to all Christians:

Read Daniel 7:13-14

And tell me: Who do you say that the Son of Man is?
