I am having a hard time with my husband. I seem to lose my patience with him more than ever since we started going to church. He was recently saved and I renewed my walk with Christ. He has a great many questions and I have explained that I am not able nor qualified to answer all the questions he has. I do my best and try to hold back but, sometimes I just can't. I have prayed on it so many times and the Lord tells me to keep my mouth closed but, my husband just pushes until I just can't keep still. If anyone can give me more scripture or advice I would appreciate it so very much. Please pray for us both!!

Is your husband not in a class for new believers? It would be of great benefit if both of you were in a Bible study class or course with a good Bible teacher. *If your church doesn't offer a course - check at your local Christian book store for resources for new believers... or see if another church can assist you and your husband.

Him asking questions is GOOD. Instead of getting impatient, go out and buy some Bible commentaries and some study Bibles of various flavors....when he asks a question and you don't know the answer, say "That's a great question! I don't know. Lets study it together." then pull out the books and start studying the Bible together to get the answers to the questions. You will be amazed at the benefits to both your marriage and your walk with God. Edit: you can also do the Bible study online without buying any books. You can type your question in to a search engine on a trusted Christian site and see what happens.

Unfortunaley our Church does not have a class that would fit his needs. The church is small and resources are limited. I do try to remember that he is a babe in the eyes of Christ. I will check the local Christian book stores for additional resources. I do appreciate the advice and ask that you pray for us both. I am new to this community and look forward to being a bigger part of it and learning from your fellowship.

Also remember that patience is a fruit of the Spirit, not something that you just try to do. If you want to be more patient in general, the best thing to do is to get closer in your walk with God, spend more time in spiritual devotions (prayer, Bible reading, contemplation, service or other disciplines) and learn to hear and submit to the Holy Spirit within you. This will naturally make you develop into a more godly person, including patience, without all the will power and depending on your own strength to control your frustration.

Kaye~ Whatever you do (I learned this the hard way ) Do not pray for the Lord to give you patience, pray for His patience. I believe in Romans chapter 5 Paul states and we know that with patience comes tribulation. If you ask the Lord to give you patience He will put tribulation in your life. Ok I had to express that since you are asking
