So here's the delimna. I got a scholarship which means that I dont have to work during the school year. I have time now. We have a really liberal newspaper at the college that I am attending...and I want to start a conservative, Christian one. Would that be allowed? And how do I go about doing it? Thanks

I'm sure you would be free to start your own newspaper anytime, anywhere. Would your school sanction/pay for it? Probably not. Regardless, you need to direct your questions to someone in your administration, as the answers will likely be different at each and every school.

And how do I go about doing it? Start a web site, a discussion forum (like this one here!), a blog, like Tech Central Station. I'm sure your official school newspaper has an online edition -- link to the articles there, and rebut them on your site. You can even do this anonymously, to fly under the radar. You could make your masthead a parody of theirs, so that folks will see the connection. And, of course, buy classified ads in their paper to promote your web site. Do it right, and eventually they'll be trying to react to your exposes and hard-hitting, well-documented reporting. Provide things that they don't -- such as links to online sites that students can use for rating professors, for example. Adoption agencies. Pro-life videos. Links to hard-edged web-based cartoons, such as Geeks on Caffeine. I imagine a free-wheeling discussion forum would attract interest. People like to participate in conversations, especially when "the man" is trying to silence non-PC points of view. OK -- dead tree media is SO 19th century.
