Through efforts of healing from past traumas of sexual abuse and finding much company but little conversation; I offer this topic for responses.
Who or what has helped you the most with healing from like traumas?
Are you aware that many others also suffer?
Do you know of songs that aid in such healing? If so, would you share the lyrics?
Do you know of websites that aid in sexual abuse healing? If so, would you share the links?

God and my faith has helped me the most....studying the Bible and realizing that I am not held accountable for those things that occurred...and by refusing to be the victim. I had bad things happen, but I will not be held down by them.

I am afraid I don't...other than just songs that focus you on God and His love.....Jennifer Knapp has some great ones...especially on her Kansas CD

no, I don't have any sites...but a good place to start would be focus on the family.

Who or what has helped you the most with healing from like traumas?
God has really helped me heal from it by enabling me to FORGIVE a certain person in the past for hurting me. In order to let go of the anger toward him, I had to take him off MY hook and put him on God's hook, by forgiving him. This doesn't mean FORGETTING what happened, because we're not able to forget like God does. All we can do is forgive the person and show them God's love, if that's possible. In my case, due to the person's medical condition and unrepentence, I'm not allowing them back into my life until they get treatment and acknowledge that he hurt me by his actions. It's the only way I can protect myself from his manipulative ways.

Do you know of websites that aid in sexual abuse healing? If so, would you share the links? No, I don't know of any right now.

Who or what has helped you the most with healing from like traumas?
Though my experience with abuse isn't as severe as some women's, I was traumatized for a long time, from junior high all through college. For me, God was my main source of healing. I wouldn't open up to a lot of people, so I went to Him with all of my troubles. I prayed for healing, and it came in the form of many godly male friends, good friends I still have today. Through them I was able to open my mind and heart and release the burden to the Lord. I learned how to have healthy relationships with men in my life, and that not all men are pigs.

I'm not sure... I know for me, the songs that aided my healing were those that opened my heart and allowed me to praise God with everything I had - often simple worship songs.

I don't know of any websites, but my mom leads a bible study/healing group for the sexually abused called Wounded Hearts, based on a popular book. It's actually a very popular ministry at her church. She was surprised herself when so many women stepped forward still in need of healing.

Finding out that so many others have gone through similar things helped me realize that life can still look 'normal'. I haven't gotten to the point of forgiving yet, but can at least usually say I don't hate him anymore.

If the OP doesn't mind would you explain how you got to that point a little please?
What if someone never told anyone when it happened, what made you get it through your head that you wouldn't be held accountable for not ratting him out?
