Always seemed a bit buggy to me... I've played around with it. Like other MUSHes, I think it is inherently amoral; that is, its moral value depends on what you do with it, not on the thing itself.

I downloaded the program, but then got a message saying that my computer didn't have the minimum requirements to run it.

You need a group of friends who play or a lot of free time to get much out of games like that, I think.

You don't need to know anyone there, if you've got time to kill wandering around talking to passers-by.

Well what i heard on Linden Lab is that they're gonna segregate all "adult" content to a single island and require Age Verification for people to access it. I've been meeting with the Governance team inworld talking about a plan to require people get Age Verified before they leave the NOOB areas. Because last week i stumbled upon a kid who said that they were a teenager and i reported the person immediately and as soon as i did that the person was gone.

I know that there are also alternate viewers for sl,and i'm using one myself that is called the Greenlife Emerald viewer. http://modularsystems.sl/ And it's supposed to be the official version of the viewer.

I've tried it a few times, but never really got into it- I didn't have anyone to play with, and it got old quick. I'd rather play The Sims, where at least the computer will play with me. :P

I tried it. I don't get it. Yeah, as a software engineer, lifelong gamer, and decade long mmorpg player, I simply... do... not... get... it.

Well Second Life has somewhat of a learning curve. Edited TOS 6 and plus too you can build, script, dance at clubs. And just today i got a sketch of a commission that someone did for my furry tiger avatar. Gonna upload it when it's done.
