I'm going to be singing special music in our church sometime this fall with my 7 yr old daughter. Any suggestions for good songs? I don't want to do a "kid" song, but it needs to be something with lyrics "appropriate" for a kid to sing, kwim?

I would appreciate any suggestions, thanks!

His Cheeseburger by Veggietales

honestly, if you want to captivate the audience then do "Awesome God" by Rich Mullins

you can sing the verses, and have the kids sing the chorus...

My Deliverer is another good possibility. It's on the Ragamuffin Band's Jesus Record. Written by Rich Mullins.

Fernando Ortega's "Jesus, King of Angels" might work, too. It's a very gentle and moving prayer.

Above All is a favorite at our church for the kids choir. Can't think of the artist right at the moment.

ETA.... Michael W. Smith apparently...

That's the cover version. The original was written and recorded by Paul Baloche & Lenny LeBlanc about 5 years earlier. There are also a number of conservative churches that object to the song because of the line "He took the fall and thought of me above all". I don't know why they object, but they do.

"Who Am I?" by Casting Crowns could work for you.

I had never heard this song before - it's beautiful! I think this is the one we'll do. Thank you so much!
